I’ve taken three Collette tours, and this was the best one. I enjoyed the options and participated in as many as I could. Noha was wonderful—very caring and knowledgeable. My only negative comment is that the cruise ship could use updating—especially with respect to wifi and tv reception.

Great tour as much as I can remember. I need a do over because just being there is overwhelming and exciting. Cruising the Nile River and then with the extension of Jordan, you have the Dead Sea. Don't forget climbing into the Pyramid, hot but wonderful just to be inside. My only mishap was traveling from home to final destination. Missed a full day of the tour.

An outstanding trip worth every penny.

The most memorable experience we had was our tour guide Mo. Being an archaeologist in Egypt, Mo provided a wealth of information on all the ancient cultures, traditions and sites we visited. It is difficult to pick one place over another. From the Egyptian Museum to Sakara, Luxor to the Valley of the Kings, the Nubian village to Abu Simbel and the Great Pyramids of Giza, every place was unique, beautiful and interesting.

This was our first vacation with Collette and a wonderful experience. The Tour Manager was absolutely great!! So full of knowledge and passion about Egypt! The hotels, ship, assistance at the airports and Tour inclusions were all top notch. They gave us time at each stop to take pictures and explore on our own after the guided part of the tour. I would tell anyone that this is an absolute must trip. Don't worry about security or safety, that was excellently handled as well.

Collette did a terrific job of taking care of the travelers. Rides from and to my home from the airport, guides meeting me at the airport at the final destination, walking us through customs and no worries about luggage. The trip manager (Mona) and her assistant (Omar) were excellent. Everything was so well organized. For many people, Egypt is a bucket list destination. Collette planned and managed this trip in a way that exceeded any of my expectations. One of the most important aspects was the fact that they had people to meet you along the way, so I always felt safe the entire time. The tour manager was one of the most exceptional tour leaders that I have ever traveled with. I learned so much on the trip as well as enjoyed everything I saw. It was my favorite of all vacations.

Tour manager was excellent and was able to answer questions. She was fun and so knowledgeable it boggled the mind. The tour could have been a little longer so we didn't have to cram so much walking and information into one day. Went to see the pyramids but enjoyed so much more. The temples and the Ramses II Temple. Fascinating how they were able to build such huge monuments. I did not have a favorite place or experience. The whole trip was a dream come true. Have always been interested in Archeology.

This was a trip of the lifetime. Seeing the sights of Egypt that we'd heard and read about all our lives was fascinating. Cruising down the Nile excellent. Our upgrade to Business Class air was definitely sub par on British Airways and not worth the price paid.

Was not happy when they switched boats from the Movenpick Royal Lily to the Jaz Regent 3 days before my departure. The rep told my travel agent was being upgraded. The Jaz Regent no comparison to the Royal Lily.. Small rooms with NO sit in balcony like Royal Lily, terrible wi-fi, no orange juice, unhappy and unfriendly staff...theclist goes on.

I got to see all of the main things plus more I didn't expect. Out tour guide Randa was so knowledgeable in Egyptian history and went to college to be an archeologist. The accomidations were excellent! We also had police ******* in front & behind of our bus and a body guard while shopping.. The sights were wonderful & planned out perfect. It IS for people with a lot of energy because there's a lot of walking involved. There are times when you must arise at 3:30 AM to beat the heat but it's all so worth it! Outer group couldn't have been nicer! The people in Egypt were all very nice, even the vendors!

Tour guide in Egypt was Excellent- Sahar was professional knowledgeable, has a wonderful passion towards her job, her country and her tour guests. She managed a group of 42 with ease , helped all, kept a good pace and was extremely organized.. One of the best guides I ever had. I travel alot maybe 3-4 big trips a year. She was exceptional.!!!!!! 5 STARS PLUS PLUS PLUS Tour guide in Jordan was exact opposite , 0 STARS, 000- his name redwan was unprofessional, rude, negative towards his country , stated Jordanians were lazy, spoke about himself and even expressed that only reason he became a tour guide was because of the money.... and that clearly showed- he was completely disengaged , never helped anyone , never gave us detailed info on any place me visited. At Petra he left us all to go on our own- my friends and my self hooked up with a Viking tour guide and learned from him - later hooked up with a lovely private tour guide who explained more - she felt bad for us and said he must be new - If so he either needs a lot more training or to be released from his job which he clearly is not interested in. We were a very small group when we went to Jordan aprox 11 people - easy to manage apparently he left us to make our way to the boarder we were going on to Israel, He did not come with us - It was a total debacle he apparently purchased a group visa when we all arrived - when we reached the boarder we needed individual visas ....Lucky for us we met a very nice GATE ONE tour guide waiting for his folks to come , he made the time to help us talk to the officials so that we did not have to purchase another visa and helped us exit the country where we had a tour guide on the Israeli side waiting for us . Renwan was so bad that no one wanted to tip him , maybe 1 person who gave him very little, but Redwan ran out so fast that another person never had a chance to give him anything . EVERYONE tipped the driver - All in All Redwin did not ruin the trip for us except for the drama at the boarder, we ALL strongly believe we should make you aware of this guides behavior so that he does not ruin the wonderful reputation Collette has in the travel industry

11 people on my tour tested positive for covid and Collette did not isolate, quarantine, or remove the people from the tour. This caused Greg Overton a family member to get a severe case of covid. Because of the danger of getting covid and the severe reaction Greg had we decided it was not safe to proceed to Jordan with the group and we needed to get Greg home because he was having trouble walking and getting weaker. The rooms were very noisy and the trip was very tiring. I have traveled with Collette many times and this was the worst trip I’ve been on.

Early mornings. Our wake up times ranged from 2:00am to 5:00am. Everyone on the tour complained about exhaustion and lack of sleep. Almost all our meals were at the hotel buffet.We were so exhausted that we only had the energy to eat at the hotel for meals we could have had at local restaurants and cafes. Some of the sites were uninteresting. Many on the tour commented, "we came all that way for this?" The lodgings were 4* and 5* but were run down and dated. Not the way I wanted to experience Egypt. On the positive side, the A-list/5 star sites were great. I appreciated that our tour manager arranged a private tour of Saqqara and Coptic Cairo for me. It was important for me to see those sites and I was the only one on the tour who wanted to go.

Tour guide was the very best. Hotels weren’t ready for us, especially when arriving in Cairo after long flights. Boat on Nike cruise had outdated furnishing and dangerous bathrooms, plus no Internet in cabins. Internal flights had us sitting in the last two rows of the airplanes every time. Without the fabulous tour guide, we would give this trip a one.

Tour manager was unorganized and not friendly. It felt like she was under a lot of stress to handle 40+ people and tried to rush things along. Constant changes in itinerary and meeting times were confusing. When things went wrong (eg, hotel porter damaged suitcase), tour manager would not help resolve the problem. It was lucky this tour had an additional Collette representative (Marwan) who helped the tour manager out. Otherwise, the rating would be 1 star.

The hotels we stayed at and specifically the Nile River Boat was substandard. The boat smelled like mildew and was not very clean. The last stay at the Intercontinental in Cairo looked nice on the outside and then they had us stay at the oldest tower with stained furniture. Same in Aswan, we were led to the old part of the hotel. Our shower did not even work and we had to call maintenance. The air travel within Egypt was ridiculous. Why did we need to take the first flight every time? The early mornings were brutal and I can understand that would be necessary on some days (to be first to the Valley of the Kings for example) but on other days it seemed arbitrary. The itinerary could be more efficient. We should have gone straight from Abu Simbel back to Cairo for example. Additionally, our tour manager withheld information. When we asked him questions he would say, I'm going to discuss that at a later time. This was not how our tour manager was on our Canadian Rockies tour. His name was Daniel and he happily answered all our questions and was teaching us the entire time. On a positive note, I would say that the coaches were very nice and clean. I would also say that they handled the large group in the airport well. We felt safe with our armed guards.

All tours, accommodations and staff were uniformly excellent: we saw all of Egypt with great efficiency, convenience, and luxury. The greatest asset to the tour was Ronda, the tour manager / guide. She was knowledgable, kind, efficient, well-organized and, as a trained archaeologist, was an expert in Egyptian antiquities and sites. We realized the depth of her knowledge when someone asked a question: her answers were always deep, detailed and very good-spirited. She was the best possible interpreter anyone could have of Egyptian art, culture, and history. She said her goal was to make everyone on her tour into an ambassador for Egypt and she achieved that goal splendidly! We cannot imagine a better tour guide than she! We would like to return and take her tour all over again.

This is now the 2nd survey I've filled out and it will not be as kind as the first. I was very disappointed in two of our hotel accommodations. The first place in Cairo the consigner sent me to Alli Babba's gift shop on the first floor to mail 3 postcards I had already purchased. All they needed were stamps. he charged me 15 US dollars to mail them. They were never sent and I have 3 very disappointed grandchildren. He didn't just rip me off he stole from me. In Aswan were waited nearly 4 hours in the lobby before we were given our rooms. That was more time then we spent at the pyramids, more time then we were allowed at the Valley of the Kings. More time then we spent at Petra what a Hugh scheduling blunder on Collette's part. Plus the staff was rude and not at all accommodating. None of the three swimming pools in our building even had water in them, and we were forced to walk to the next building. When we got to the Dead Sea, it was already dusk and we were able to go down to the water and big disappointment and another scheduling blunder on Collettes part. Also I've requested that someone call me, that hasn't happened yet. Why not?

We had a great time. Randa our tour guide made it extra special. We had busy days seeing as much of this fascinating country as possible.

Very fast paced trip. Maybe extend it a couple of days and have a "sea day" rest and easy day to catch up on sleep and enjoy the culture of the area. Favorite place was Jordan, Mt. Nebo and Petra. Amazing.

Our tour guide Tarek was amazing and provided great info on Egypt and Egyptian customs that you won’t find in the documentaries on tv. We arrived early and he was gracious enough to take us to one of the newest museums in Cairo. I feel Tarek is always there to help you out and offer the best travel experiences. Sights were awesome..tour manager excellent..hotels very good

Information given to us before the trip was inaccurate. 1) the activity level WAS NOT moderate, it was much more...a lot of steps. 2) a lot of extra expenses, ie. payment to use camera ...$18.00 per use at certain locations. 3) TSA Global Entry not marked on airline ticket.

Security very good, not enough time for shopping in some in instances. Pressured & deliberately confusing salesmen in perfume store, rug showroom, papyrus paper shop, & especially jewelry store which were all scheduled stops. Their goal was to make as much money as they can from the American tourists.

All logistics were well handled— and this trip had a lot of moving parts! ALL accommodations were excellent. Tarek was great. Corona was not your fault, but I was a bit surprised Collette did not notify us of Joes positive test when you found out. With “positive test from Egypt traveler” making the front page of the local paper, there was some scrambling here.😬 I already mentioned, in the first survey, the huge mess the Cairo Light Show turned into because of traffic. Much as you like that restaurant, you need to find another fun place CLOSER to the Pyramids, it took 1hr 45 min to get there so dinner was a whirlwind. Oh and water needs to be an INCLUDED part of the meal.😬

This was my fourth trip with Collette and I was not disappointed. Collette did another great job planning and executing my recent trip to Egypt. From ensuring my flight requests, to top hotels, to the pace of the land tours, it was spot on. I greatly appreciate the level of care given to obtain our tour guides/managers. Very interesting tour.

Trip was well organized and the tour guide (Dina) was great and very knowledgeable. We weren't that impressed with the two evening Light Shows we did as an optional tour. at different places. Thought they were too expensive and they weren't very impressive. Transportation was great, too.

Learning about the history was terrific. Boat cruise was the best. What I didn’t care for was the constant approach of vendors and putting items in my bag and demanding money. And of course having to pay to use a bathroom. That caused me to not pay attention when leaving so I tripped and fell in Cairo. Fortunately not hurt.

A few problems, but otherwise a tour of a lifetime.

Randa was an excellent tour manager. We felt confident with all the arrangements. It was nice to be promptly greeted at the airport by the Collette representative who took care of our vivas. We learned a great deal about Egypt thanks to our wonderful guide, Randa. The InterContinental Hotel in Cairo, however, didn't have our rooms ready upon our arrival. I was very tired that day and just wanted to get into the room. The hotel accommodations there were exceptional in all other aspects. We did have a couple of problems in Jordan. As soon as we got our baggage, a group of young men commandeered our bags and loaded them onto the van. They kept demanding tips even though we had already generously tipped them. They finally left, but I felt that we were accosted by them. When we were ready to leave Jordan, our ride wasn't there to take us to the airport. We finally went to the hotel desk to get a number to contact our Jordan tour manager. A driver arrived and we made our connection at the airport without a problem. I earlier saw the same driver in the lobby, but at the time I didn't know he was our driver. I went downstairs shortly after the bags were taken down. Personally, I feel there was a miscommunication between the tour manager and the driver about the pickup time. Thankfully, we didn't miss our flight. Otherwise, our tour manager was an exceptionally knowledgeable guide. All in all, the best vacation ever!

The cruise down the Nile River was amazing. The sights along the way and the service aboard the Royal Lily were remarkable. All of the tour in Egypt and Jordan were amazing! It's truly difficult to single out just one memorable experience. A trip of a lifetime beyond my expectations!

Egypt, a fantastic journey.

Our tour guide in Egypt was knowledgeable, friendly, willing to meet all our needs and desires; our accommodations were first class and comfortable; travel arrangements including luggage handling and limo services to and from airports was appreciated and ran smoothly; and we received a good return for the money spent.

One of the most memorable experiences was seeing the pyramids early in the morning without all the crowds. Our tour guide Henry assured us the earlier time of leaving the hotel would be well worth it and it WAS!!!!. We were able to avoid the crowds in all the places we visited and get some good shots of the pyramids, temples, museums and tombs without having other people in our pictures!!! Henry was THE BEST tour guide who really took care of the guests!!!

Step back in time to days of the pharaohs

Our tour manager Sahar was excellent. Very knowledgeable and presented both depth and breadth of information around the monuments and sites that we visited. She was also responsive to individual requests..ie taking folks to cotton store or jewelry stores in the souk.

This trip exceeded my expectations. We visited the major sites of ancient Egypt. So many highlights: Abu Simbel, cruising on the Nile, visiting the major monuments of ancient Egypt, visiting the Temple at Luxor and the pyramids at Giza by night.

The tour manager made some changes on the itinerary one day without giving adequate explanation that we would see the site on another day. I had to ask. Also, when flight was delayed to abu simbel, she could have reassured us that we would still have ample time at the site. We were not told that till we landed, caused unnecessary stress and worry.

The price for side trip to Abu Simbel was outrageous at $450.00. To add insult to injury, we found out that the group from New Jersey who were also on our bus were only charged $350.00. The Kansas City people had to pay $100.00 more which is totally unfair, and I felt Collette took advantage of me and robbed me of $100. Side trips price should be the same for everyone. It is bad business and I will not use Collette again.

Everything about this trip was perfect, planes on time, all buses where on time, all people in charge where on time, food was top notch, Hotels where perfect, everything was worth every cent payed. I would tell anybody to go to Egypt and go Collette, The guide we had Henry Ayoub was the greatest , to lose him would be a big hurt to Collette. Collette goes beyond just a good trip but a absolute perfect trip, and their was other guides with Collette that where also very good and helpful.Collette should be very proud of its Organization. Traveling to Egypt was high on our list. Collette’s itinerary was excellent. We covered it all from the pyramids to the Nile cruise, the Valleys of the Kings and Queens in Luxor. Karnak temple, an incredible site and the optional magical day trip to Abu Sembel. Not once were we concerned with our personal safety. Collette and the Egyptian police did an excellent job. The people are friendly and seem happy. The economy is improving and there is hope for this country in tourism once again.

Include all tips in the tour price. Add a day to make the tour less hectic.

Suggestions for Collette re “Treasures of Egypt” Tour 1.Include the tips (like Senior Discovery Tours does). Pay people properly for doing their jobs! 2.The Aswan High dam should be a standard part of the itinerary. We had to petition our tour manager to get it organized, and had to pay extra for it. 3.Include wine with the dinners that are included in the tour. 4.Do a better job of finding flights that minimize layovers. Friends traveling with us were able to do what Collette could not. Their layovers avoided 7 hours of waiting. a.Offer the option to fly non-stop to Cairo (via Egypt Air, for example). b.In general, allow more flexibility in flight options and changes. 5.Better enforcement of rotation on the bus (give example of Newfoundland) and at dinner tables 6.Honor requests to group people together in the hotels (we don’t see each other that often). 7.Too many activities packed into single days – Abu Simbel was the worst – up at 5:30 and not back to our rooms until 11:00pm. Keep the same activities but add a day in order to spread them out, thus making the tour less hectic overall. 8.People often dislike wearing name-tags. Provide a list of the names of everyone in the group, so they can better get to know each other and keep in contact if they wish. a.And Collette’s name-tags should attach to the lanyard at the two upper corners – a single point of attachment keeps the tags twisting upside down. 9.Eight of us had to get up at 4am to fly to Jordan with a terrible “box breakfast”, then had to sit around for hours in Amman’s airport for two others who took a later flight. The whole group of 10 should have been able to take the later flight. 10. It was a waste of money to stay in an Amman hotel for 4 hours then have to leave at 11pm to fly out at 2:40am with no sleep. As in point 7. above, by adding a day to the tour, we would have been able to get a night's sleep prior to flying home. a. Most of the food at the final dinner was uneaten. b. And we never received the promised final "breakfast" as per page 21 of the Vacation Documents booklet produced by Collette.

The package covered exactly the activities we wanted; except we had to ask for the Aswan high dam tour to be added at the last minute. Keep all the activities but make the tour longer. The Nile riverboat cruise was a highlight.

My only complaint was the day that we spent the morning at the valley of the Kings, came back and went to the ship. Then the tour guide took several people (10 people)for another tour, and those of us who had not signed up for that were essentially left stranded in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. We couldn’t get off the boat and walk around as there was nothing to see or do.

Our guide Deana on a scale of 1 to 10 [ten being the very best] She was a 12. She’s Egyptian a history major and has been a guide for 30 years. She took care of us from exchanging money assisted in bartering with the vendors and having they leave when not welcome. If someone was sick or couldn’t tour made exceptions to assist that didn’t effect the rest of the group. The trip was on my bucket list and it exceeded my expectations.

Once in Egypt our service was over the top. However the Camar’s we’re friendly but one of the guides should not be doing this anymore. If they need a wheelchair and can’t walk their assistance was helping their partner and the other 16 of us were left to fend for ourselves. Plus lack of knowledge of pickup at JFK was mind boggling . If you do 2 tours a year this is something you should have mastered. I knew more and this was my first trip. Also once in Egypt they announced ok we’re finished now it’s all up to our guide. This comment left a bad taste in my mouth. Anna Marie was more focused on Bobbies needs. Very disappointed with this group and will never travel with them again.

Excellent guide and comfortable accommodations. Double checking flight schedules. 11 hr layover in middle of the night . We questioned it on day one and was told it was either printing error or time difference. It spoiled the whole trip.

Overall the trip was very well organised with excellent and knowledgeable tour guides.We also felt safe due to the high level of security provided. The hotels were of high standard with an excellent choice of food and the coaches were also of high standard and comfortable. We saw and experienced some fantastic sights both in Egypt and Jordan. The boat on the Nile cruise was not of a high standard it was tired and the very small gym did not have any of the equipment working, as a balance the food and entertainment on the boat was very good. It was also not pleasant to be berthed between other boats which blocked any view from the cabin when we woke up. The trip was very exhausting with early starts to catch flights and leave the hotel. So although we stayed in excellent hotels there was no time to enjoy the facilities or breakfast if you had dinner at 8pm and had to be up at 3am. A major gripe were the breakfast packs when we had to leave early and could not enjoy breakfast in the hotel. The pack consisted of a cold drink, a cake and a piece of fruit. Very poor value for money and as a replacement for a full breakfast, the hotels could do much better.

Did NOT plan time for lunch during excursions. One excursion was 8 hours with no chance to eat! Our tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. It was hard to keep up with her. She walked so fast so as to include everything planned that day.

Collette had the best tour guide, Sahar Hammad, and tour manger, Amir. Both were very caring, knowledgeable, organized and friendly. We always felt safe with them, and any concerns or needs were always taken care of. The motorcoaches drivers were always helpful to us getting in and out of the buses, and the buses were clean and well kept. It was amazing to see how all the vehicles managed on the roads. We always managed to be parked in the best area for our sightseeing.

The tour was good value for the money. The pyramids, tombs, and temples were awesome. The Egyptian archaeologist that spoke to us at one of the pyramids was wonderful to listen to. The Egyptian people were friendly and nice, and welcoming.

We had amazing support with this tour. Our guide, Henry Ayoub was very knowledgeable and quite personable. Not only providing excellent historical and cultural information, he made the trip enjoyable for the entire group. The local hosts and subject matter experts were especially good as well. Service was exceptional as it has always been on Collette tours.

Transportation was clean and comfortable from our pickup at home to our drop off after the tour. Buses in Egypt were clean and comfortable as well. Henry, our tour manager was amazing, saw to every detail and kept everyone informed, entertained, and happy. Only glitch was with Egyptian Air between Abu Sembel and Aswan. There was a delay due to mechanical issues, beyond the scope of Collette.

The tour was well-paced with a new adventure everyday. Everything was so well organized, that we didn't need to think about any logistics. In Egypt, it's difficult to provide the most memorable experience as each day seemed to top the last. I did love the Nile cruise with the time to just relax in my cabin and watch the age-old Egyptian world go by. The pyramids (with or without camels) were everything and more that I could have imagined.

AMAZING Egypt - Be Aware

A get together with the whole group before we started our tour would have need appreciated. Also, did not get info before hand because it went to my house while I was,away. This,should have been handled before I left. Knowing some of what to expect in Egypt would also have been helpful i.e. armed guards, swarming very aggressive vendors at every stop, bomb sniffing dogs etc. My first night we had,a,bomb evacuation drill. Making your customers aware of these things would have been helpful. Also, was not prepared for the pyramids to be next to near a slum where garbage is just piled high. Other tgan tgat, our tour guide Henry was AMAZING and ver knowledgeable. He and Egypt's wonderful history made the trip worthwhile.

Henry has a vast of knowledge concerning Egypt which I learned a lot. Hotels are are great. Boat cruise needs some improvement in terms of quality, variation and preparation of foods ( there’s only maximum of 2 bottles per table no other beverages during lunch and dinner). Entertainment is poor but the staff are nice.

1. The person who was the liaison with Collette was not responsive. She seldom returned phone calls, and is the reason I did not schedule another Collette tour. . . she was unresponsive to questions so I missed the deadline. 2. The air itinerary was an abomination with a 10 hour layover in FRA on the outbound leg and a 12 hour overnight layover in FRA on the return. Were there really no connections through LHR or direct flights from JFK or IAD? This was such a bad way to start a trip AND to end a trip, it really should never happen.

The pace of the tour was pretty aggressive (especially since we didn't get to the hotel until about 4 AM on Day 1 - see comment above), but the places we went, the accommodations, the transportation and the security were all great.

The responses to queries were good. Annoyed that there wasn't a response to my direct email query. I received answers roundabout from my travel agent. The email she received implied Collette had responded to me and this was a courtesy email to her as my agent.

I thought the tour was a great value. I had an amazing time. Whisper device was excellent addition to tour. I'm annoyed that internal flights that were a part of the tour were billed separately and weren't not included in the advertised price of the tour. I considered this to be deceptive. Things that need to be included in info packet: - The need for a lot of small denomination USD. - The need for 5LE notes for all the bathroom attendants - Some warning about the vendors at the big tourist sites (e.g., Giza)

Very pleasant and efficient over the phone when booking. Collette usually has great tour guides and the one we had in Egypt was exceptional. Abguided tour really is only as good as 8ts tour guide and Collette does a great job in getting quality tour guides.

The one area of small disappointment was not knowing in advance how many places required additional funding to view or experience. There were many tomb sites that required additional fees to enter the tomb as well as photography fees to say nothing of all the tips expected. It is difficult to budget cash for all of these and our group requested numerous stops at banks and ATM to be prepared for these.

We scheduled our trip from March 13th to the 25th. My husband and I were astonished with how organized and efficient the entire endeavor was. I would like to give a big shout to two people. Firstly, to our tour manager, Randa Abdel Wahab. She was a phenomenal source of knowledge about the trip, the locations, and the people. She managed the trip very well and kept it running smoothly. We felt safe with Randa the entire time since she knew how to navigate the areas. She treated everyone with professionalism as well as warmth. Even when she was at her busiest, she would always find the time to address individual questions, provide insights, and be warm while holding sophisticated conversations. She did an exceptional job for us and we always felt welcome. Thank you Randa for being such a fantastic ambassador to your country. Our second shout out is to the restaurant manager aboard the Movenpick Royal Lily boat tour. I regret not remembering his name, but I have a lot of food allergies. This man would be always available to check up on me and discuss what foods I can and can’t have and he would he go out of his way to make sure I always was eating something safe. He would then double check on my meals to ensure that no allergens were within them. He was always friendly and concerned with all the people on the trip.

The locations and the history were thoroughly experienced and the security was top notch. It felt like we had an army of people to help keep the trip smooth and pleasurable. I have found you might be a little more expensive then other companies, but it is so worth it.. Once your trip is payed for ,everything is done for you, from transportation to the airport to your more then generous refund policy. ( so important to me when my parents were ill, l never had to cancel but knowing I could if necessary certainly brought peace of mind)

COLLETTE DOES NOT PROPERLY PREPARE TRAVELER FOR THIS TRIP

your travelers guide was a repeat of what you usually say in western nations and noway warned of the aggressive culture at the Egyptian historical sites, nor the fact that when you bought an optional tour you paid a lot of money just to get into the park and DID NOT include costs to get into the individual exhibits in the park. Abu Simbel was a total waste of $500! We were never warned that we would be expected to give tips to security, though they didn't do much. were nickled and dimed to death. most of us very angry about last minute notice of these additional costs, as this trip cost significantly more than quoted. Took me 3 days to get dollars. Guide was well informed but failed to comment on the events in Egyptian history that were less than honorable eg. the decades of Jewish enslavement. This trip needed specific info, not being alerted to this created considerable stress. a vacation is not enjoyable when there is such added stress. I am certain the the stress created an environment in which 25% of the group was sick for half the tour, I was one of them and came home with pneumonia. SHAME ON YOU COLLETTE NOT SURE I TRUST ANOTHER TOUR WITH YOU

Good Overall

Overall, Collette did a very good job in preparing me for my tour of Egypt. The group session conducted several weeks before the tour departure date was generally helpful but should have occurred sooner to allow for more time to make adjustments. Advice about Egyptian currency was accurate and helpful, but I would recommend providing travelers with a printed sheet detailing conversion equivalents of Egyptian and U.S. currency. This could have saved time and decreased some of the stress associated with travel to foreign countries. I was extremely pleased with our Egyptian tour guide, Tarek Tawfik. His command of English was remarkable and his calming nature helped to relieve stressful situations that are always a part of ambitious tours. I was totally impressed with Egypt and will spend considerable time writing about my experiences. The contributions of the local Egyptian reps used by Collette were also greatly appreciated along with the security agents who provided for the safety of our group. I do have one major complaint that caused me considerable stress in the last few days before the trip. At the group meeting at University of Pittsburgh the Collette agent gave us mixed messages about carrying laptop and/or tablet devices on Egypt Air. I had purchased a 12-inch 2-in-1 device prior to the trip, planning to use the tablet for photos and then having the capability to write while in Egypt. The rep told us that Egypt Air's policy was not to allow those devices, but then he indicated that he had carried tablet and laptop devices on their aircraft and had no problem. I vacillated as to whether or not to take the device and then finally decided against it on the morning of departure. I had to make a very quick adjustment in my luggage with limited time. This could all have been avoided with a clear message from Collette. Either they are allowed, or they are not. Please do not put your clients in the position of having to guess what may or may not work with all the other decisions and preparations that had to be made for a trip of this nature. Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback. If Collette can make the adjustments I have indicated above, I would gladly travel with them in the future and have no problem with a 5-star rating.

So many memorable sites and experiences in Egypt -- the Pyramids of Giza, of course, the day trip to Alexandria, the lovely panoramas of rural farm land along the Nile, cosmopolitan Cairo, and the slower pace of Luxor and Aswan. The Royal Lilly took us up the Nile to the amazing tombs of Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Memphis, as well as the carriage ride through the sweet-smoky morning air in Edfu to the temple there. The staff of the Royal Lilly treated us like family, and the flight to the temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel was breathtaking. I could go on and on . . .

The service was efficient and professional. We are unlikely to travel with Collette again as we felt the travel experience was geared towards American travellers wanting a different type of holiday. We are not keen on early morning calls rushed travel and multi experiences daily preferring less but more thorough. Also our Nile cruise ship was very disappointing and not the 5 star travel we had expected. We were very impressed with Henry our tour guide who managed guests with health issues as well as imparting excellent knowledge and passion for all things Egyptian.

We liked the Karnak sound and light experience, Darshur and the Temple of Hatshepsut. Both Cairo hotels, the Marriott Omar Khayyam and the Intercontinental Citystars were excellent. We were upset by the horse drawn travel in Edfu including accidents to horses.

Too Rushed to enjoy the sights of Egypt

Is this for the tour as a whole or just the office staff? Office staff was fine but Egypt trip was too rushed and hurried. At Giza, we went to the Great Pyramid n overlook. Only 90 minutes there. No time to wander about. We went to Giza on a Friday, worst day to visit, as it was super crowded. No time to shop for stuff to bring back. Air connections were LOUSY....10 hour lay over in London then arrive in Cairo at 230 am, get to hotel at 5, then expected to start the tour? You need to rethink air connections, through Frankfurt, Istanbul or elsewhere. Leaving at 3am was also not good. On the whole a good trip but way too rushed. No time to absorb the history and grandeur of Egypt. Tour guide was great but tour was a rush each day. At Aswan, no chance to see the city or Old Cataract hotel, have afternoon tea as Agatha Christy May have done. Only 18 hours at this hotel, 6 of which were spent waiting on hotel rooms. Very much a hurry up and wait trip as far as hotels and cruise. More coordination on hotel room availability and time group arrives.

Brochure is misleading on time available to enjoy Egypt. We were always in a hurry to arrive, leave and get to another place. Maybe restructure each day to allow more time at sites like Giza.

The tour was amazing. It started at the oldest point, the oldest pyramids, and worked its way up in Egyptian history. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the light and sound at Karnak was a bit hard because of the long standing and walk to the show and then the walk back in the dark with dimly lit paths. Even with our flashlights it was a hard walk on uneven paths.

The itinerary was wonderful. I feel like I really was able to see a lot of Eqypt. Our your guide was AMAZING!!! I would have liked more opportunities to go out on Our own and eat local or shop local. Even on days were we were supposed to do lunch on our own there was no opportunity to do so. Also it would have been nice to know to bring a lot of $1 bills USD...bathroom money. The ATMs did not work until the last day pr two of the trip. That was very inconvenient. It didn't seem to matter what city we were in, they were always empty.

I've taken several tours with Colette previously and this trip to Egypt was just as wonderful as the others. The hotels were first rate and our guide was AMAZING! The places we visited were not only the obvious ones you would expect to see (pyramids, Sphinx, etc.) but other historical and fascinating places...more than were even listed in the itinerary. There were several fellow tourists that had traveled with other tour companies and they all agreed that Collette was the best they had experienced. I'm looking forward to my next tour with Collette when we visit the "Imperial Cities."

The Nile riverboat was positioned as a "five star", it was not. The advertising misrepresented the facts and created expectations that simply were not met. The tour numbers were larger than expected (39 participants) and larger than we prefer.

My frustration and disappointment with the lack of services that I received from Tommie Marshall, the travel agent for my group. Throughout both the initial and continuous progress of booking Tommie remained highly unprofessional and misleading. Tommie did not provide timely information in order for me to prepare for my trip due to the information meeting about what could be expected for the trip being scheduled two weeks prior to the trip occurring. Then the meeting was very brief and did not start on time after I drove over an hour to a location that was not convenient for all parties during the middle of rush hour. Tommie and the presenter rushed the meeting due to needing to do an informational meeting about an upcoming trip, which led to several questions being unanswered during the meeting. Tommie was difficult to get in touch with at times and was not helpful in providing information about certain aspects of the trip. Tommie was also not helpful regarding expectations for the trip and package information. Also while on the trip it was revealed by others in the group that a lot of the additional information regarding itinerary items that were available were not made clear in enough time to participate in the activity. Tommie also did not communicate with the entire group regarding the meeting location for the pick-up location for travel to and from the airport, therefore the pick-up location was only convenient for less than half of the group. When concerns about the pick-up location were communicated to Tommie she was unable to answer directly about the miscommunication and blamed others in the party for the misunderstanding. Overall the trip went well and I had a lot of fun. I just would not book through Tommie again.

A very thorough and exciting tour.

This tour was very inclusive; we visited the major sites we had expected. Our guide changed the schedule if it seemed we had already done enough for one day, which I thought was thoughtful and smart. There were issues with lunches and dinners throughout the tour especially on the first days in and near Cairo. Also, since we arrived on the first day so late (early?) perhaps Collette should suggest or arrange a day early arrival for those of us who started a challenging 11 day tour at 6:00 in the morning after 3 hours sleep. The bus drivers were good and our guide, Henry, was excellent, very knowledable and helpful. Accommodations were excellent.

Great itinerary, but not nearly enough time in Abu Simbel. I also got a bad case of food poisoning on the boat during the four day cruise up the Nile.

Getting to see the pyramids of Giza was a dream come true, but the 11 hour day was torture after arriving in the middle of the night and getting only 1 hour of sleep. I definitely recommend arriving a day early, in order to recover before the extremely active first day of the tour.

Miserable flights!!!!

The trip and the tour manager were above average like all our previous Collette trips. But my wife and I paid for Premium Economy flights. The flights we got were all Economy except for two. Plus we were in the back of the plane on two of the Economy flights. We did not get our document packet until a week before the trip. So flights were changed and we could not get our original flights. It took forever to get home on three flights that started at 2:30am and included two layovers that were each four hours long. Total disaster on the flights. Will have to rethink using Collette again.

He was sensitive to the needs of all of us on the tour and made sure all 'special requests' were well taken care of. The trip was wonderful. The only disappointment was in the amount of time allocated to explore the museum in Cairo and the Nubian museum. Basically sufficient time to just walk through both museums, not enough time to read the information available or explore the displays. Hotels were good as was the amount of time allocated to the pyramids, valley of the Kings, etc.

Changes ones perspective

Well planned, great hotels, good tour guide, marvelous experience. Highlights were the tombs, pyramids, camel riding, and the river boat cruise. Wish we had come in a day earlier though. A late night arrival with an early start the next day was demanding. Also be aware of charges in some places to use your camera and that some tombs require an extra charge.and carry some of your own toilet paper and lots of change for the washroom ladies.

Once in a lifetime experience for me.

First, Collette provided air transportation from my regional Airport. (Killeen/Fort Hood). (Saved a lot of parking fees). Next, we were met at the Cairo Airport with an outstanding Collette greeter who arraigned our transfers and Hotel accommodations. Then we met our tour guide, Sahar. Sahar was one of the most hard working and knowledgeable tour guides I have ever met. This was an amazing adventure. The only thing I wish we could have done was to spend a little less time in temples and tombs, and have a little more interaction with the current day culture of the people.

Great travel experience.

Excellent guide in Sahar. She was very knowledgeable. If anything could be improved it would the avoidance of the many hands out for tips. This could be built into the cost of the trip to a large extent. Also for older folk, it is a strenuous trip.

Amazing trip

We greatly enjoyed our trip! It was a phenomenal experience and our tour guide was absolutely amazing! You guys were lucky to even have her! With her knowledge she could have easily been a professor at a college. Although everything we saw on the trip was absolutely breathtaking and amazing, it was too much. There was never any time to stop and catch your breath and just relax and enjoy yourself. Another thing was a shop that you guys should know about where we got ripped off. When we were on the Royal Lotus from the move and pick hotel group there was a jewelry shop that we and many other people spent a lot of money in just to find out that I got sold fake jewelry after being reassured by our guide that it was a legitimate jewelry store. I ended up spending $200 on a bracelet which turned out to be worth only $5. So now I have a $200 paper weight. So I would advise your customers, if you want to keep them, that it's a good store for souvenirs but is not quality jewelry.

Flight and transfers from the airport did not allow enough time to begin the tour. Arrived at 2 am in the morning and tour started at 6am. Not enough sleep

Amazing Egypt

I always love Collette tours and this one did not disappoint. Our tour guides were wonderful and helped us all with anything we needed. The Nile cruise was the highlight.

A most excellent trip

We have traveled with many tour companies over the years. This trip with Collette was perhaps one of the best. The accommodations on land and on the Nile cruise boat were terrific. Tarek Tawrif was an excellent field manager. His knowledge and pride in Egypt made the trip an even better experience. Meeting us at both the Cairo and Amman airports was a big help in dealing with Visas. Would travel with Collette again.

Covered ll the right sights for the casual traveler of the Egyptophile.

The tour covered all of the right sights for the casual traveler or the Egyptophile. The tour guide, Tarek, was first rate. The hotels were excellent, especially the Intercontinental in Cairo. The Nile cruise boat accommodations were adequate, to food and staff great. The customer care from beginning to end was very good, from airport pickup to security.

The most memorable experience was seeing and touching the Great Pyramid, then climbing through the robbers' passage to the king's chamber.

Awesome.

Well organized tour. Tour manager Khaled Lotfy was amazing. Keep group on track and had a wealth of information about Egypt I think 40 people on this trip was too many, it just takes so much time getting people on and off the bus, checking into hotels and waiting at restrooms.

An Awesome Experience

Collette is an awesome company! The level of organization is superb and the accommodations selected are the best. On both of the trips we have taken with Collette our tour managers were exceptional gentlemen and so we have now already booked two more trips with Collette!

This tour was incredible. Although I loved everything about Luxor the most (the Valley of the Kings, etc.) I don't think there is anything that can quite compete with the moment that you realize you are riding a camel past the Great Pyramids of Giza on the Sahara Desert...pinch me!

Fantastic 5 Star Tour of Egypt

This Treasures of Egypt could not have been better. The itinerary included all the sites I wanted to see. Our guide, ******, was amazing. He was great at explaining everything about Egypt’s history, Pharohs and Queens, Gods, archeology, etc. as an Egyptologist, he spoke with passion about the sites I have been waiting a lifetime to visit. Everything about the tour was first class and 5 Star. Such a wonderful experience.

Good value for the tour. We visited all major sights in Egypt. Cruising Nile River was relaxing moments after daily sightseeing excursions. Abu Simbel (optional tour) was a must see site. The egyptologist and the tour director was excellent. Without his expertise, this trip could not have been so educational. However, I thought the the size of the group was too big. He was not able to wait for everybody to gather around to start the explanation and inside of some temples did not have large enough space for all of us to be near him, amongst other tour groups. We could not see what is being explained until later. Perhaps, less than 30 people is ideal.

I have used Collette twice and had excellent tours both times. The last trip with Collette was to Egypt. I had always wanted to see the pyramids and Collette was one of the few tour companies offering tours to Egypt. I always felt safe and had a great experience.

Even if the tour had lasted only 2 days, I would have been happy. Those first 2 days we saw the pyramids, sphinx and Valley of the Kings & Queens-everything I'd always wanted to see! The rest of the time was frosting on the cake, including Nile cruise and all the other amazing sites we visited.

Security in this country was our main concern and Collette excelled.

Egypt was our 5th Collette tour. Overall we were happy with our tour experience. The itinerary was very good in terms of including most popular popular points of interests, somewhat fast paced, excellent security, very capable Egyptologist tour manager whose historical insight made a huge impact to our appreciation of Egyptian history. All the tour bus drivers were excellent in terms of promptness and safety.

Abu Simbel was an incredible sight to see but visiting the Nubian Museum and hearing the tour guide's presentation and anecdotes regarding the site's backstory made an incredible site even better!

Fabulous trip. Fantastic hotels, food delicious w/many choices, tour guide outstanding. We felt very safe in all locations. Hard to pick a favorite but Valley of Kings & Queens hard to beat! Suggestions- tell people to bring more small bills, $1 and$5. Because tipping is big part of cash need.

The staff members responsible for making our trip a memoriable one did their job very proffesionally. Our tour guide did everything needed to make sure we were able to see the sites and inform us about the history behind each site. He also took the time to make sure we felt welcome and appreciated for visiting his country.

Perfect Egypt

The Egypt trip was fantastic!! I can't imagine any trip being better, but Collette is always perfect. The hotels were first class. The organization was terrific. I must say the trip manager, Tarek Tasfik, was professional and informative. He was also fun. Amir Fakhry, our representive in Cairo was also excellent. We saw so many amazing things. Every day was exciting and interesting. Egyptians were very nice and I always felt welcomed. As usual, Collette Travel was an excellent value and I will continue to use them in my travel.

I really enjoyed Alexandria. The Nile cruise was just fantastic. Of course I loved the pyramids!!! I must also say the Egyptians were a real highlight. Every person I met was warm, friendly, and seemed to be happy we were visiting their country. The Egyptian people will always be a wonderful memory. I always felt very safe.
