The activity level for this tour:
You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

The whole experience was amazing. The tour from beginning to end. The tour bus driver was skilled and we all felt safe and the tour guide had so much knowledge and personality. I had the most fabulous time at the Molana Dairy Farm! The older couple were so adorable! Also, Christ Church Cathedral was beautiful and the Kilbeggan Distillery was very nice. I wish we could have spent more time at the Cliffs of Moher. The Dingle Crystal store was beautiful! -

Ireland is beautiful! The countryside was magnificent and the people were welcoming. The Clifts of Moher and the Dingle Peninsula were beautiful. The food was good and the pub atmosphere was so comfortable. What can you say about castles! You don’t see those everyday. I would definitely visit Ireland again!

The bus driver who came from Ireland was exceptional!! Tour Guide from Eastern Europe tried her best but she was not the right choice for a tour of Ireland That was Collette’s fault not hers I would not recommend this tour to anyone unless the Guide came from Ireland We really missed out on a lot of what the tour should have provided 👎

All was very good except we were supposed to spend 2 night in a magnificent castle but ended up in a standard hotel outside of Dublin for our last 2 nights with nothing to do. This was my number ONE event I wanted on the trip. No one ever told us WHY!!!!!! We had already been in Dublin for 3 nights at the beginning of the week (5 out of 9 nights!!). I am still waiting for an explanation and hopefully compensation. Please respond, Diane Lenzen

Great tour & Kate Allen was an excellent tour guide. On top of which she had to deal with a loud, & at times a somewhat obnoxious group (generally 1 person who is also a guide or involved in setting up trips) from Canada. Cliffs of Mohar, Blarney Castle were highlights. Billy was a wonderful bus driver, a Big thumbs up for Kate & Billy!

This was a wonderful tour, thanks in great part to our expert guide Kate, and amazing driver Billy. We learned so much about the history and culture of Ireland and took in so much beauty as we drove through the countryside! Favorite sites we visited were Blarney Castle and Cliffs of Moher, and the Spring weather was amazing at both sites. We were blessed with sunshine 6 of 7 days. The tour of Dublin and Christ Church Cathedral with guide James, was also excellent! Accommodations were all well chosen and quite comfortable. The coach was comfortable as well. The included meals were also very well done. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about this tour, and highly recommend!

This was a fabulous tour! Kate was an excellent tour guide and Billy was the best driver ever. It was very well-planned and all of the experiences we had were wonderful. It’s very hard to pick a favorite, but I loved driving around the Dingle peninsula and seeing its dramatic scenery. I also loved our trip to the Cliffs of Moher. I can’t wait to go back!

This was our 4th tour with Collette. The only thing that made this trip difficult, we arrive at our Hotel in Dublin early morning 6:30, and could not get into rooms til 2. The rest of the trip was amazing!! Our tour guide John Hogan was so knowledgeable, helpful, great sense of humor. Completely 5-star!! Beautiful rooms, great food! Our next trip is Belgium & Holland Tulip Cruise!!

Every day was really nice. Enjoyed the Blarney Stone. Yes, I kissed it 😊 Cliffs of Moher beautiful. Tour of Dublin interesting. Only one small negative….upon arrival at hotel, I had to wait four hours for my room. You can only walk around or shop for so long. A Welcome bag with water, a snack, even a coupon for a cup of coffee at the hotel would be nice. Both additional trips were very nice. All food was good. Enjoyed the trip very much. Second time I have been to Ireland.

One hotel room was very small compared to the rooms others were given. Even though I was a solo traveler, I paid extra for my trip and should receive similar accommodations to everyone else. I also did not get my AMerican Advantage Points. Other than that, the trip was wonderful.

As with any tour, sometimes you have to take part in things you are not interested in (In our case the Guinness tour and whisky tour.) to do the things you want to do. The meal and entertainment after the Guinness tour was a highlight of our trip. We would have rather have had the time for a museum. The Castle evening was wonderful too.

Transportation home was awful. 24 hrs is way too long for 50+. Would like more time in each town to go down town & get the flavor of Ireland. Whiskey tour not good…,rather have gone down town. Spent too much time at jewelry stop. Love Ireland and people very friendly. Liked all of the history Collette gave us. Favorite experience was actually at the farm in the rain talking to Irish people

When we received our tour book, our hotels had changed. We used to have a hotel right in the center of the city, we ended up with hotel, it was nice, but it was an outskirts. We had to taxi or bus in Dublin in Killarney, or give us excursion was not represented the way we thought it would be, it’s dinner and entertainment in Guinness, and we had dinner entertainment, one day, and Guinness, the next day. It took up two afternoons. The castle was excellent, but we stopped at a gas station for lunch that day. it would’ve been nicer just to have lunch at the castle. We didn’t get much help when it came to transportation by ourselves downtown from our tour guide. Our tour guide Martina, did a great job with history. On the bus, we were assigned seats, because we were told we would move around. The people in the back were stuck in the back the entire time and just move back-and-forth. The tour was fantastic with a few very small exceptions.3 of the 4 hotels we stayed at had a double and single bed per room,which is not optimal for married couples,or people even slightly above the norm as far as height. Also there were two stops at shops,one a jewelry ,the other wool clothes. It felt both forced,and a waste of time for most. The time would have been much better spent in the smaller towns we went to such as Dingle and Killarney. Norman our tour guide and John our bus driver are the best at their professions I have ever come across. Cabra Castle is was especially wonderful and a perfect place to end the trip.

The tour was great. What was not so great was the plane reservations. I have been on 3 other Collette Ireland tours. Each time we flew directly from LAX to Dublin. This time we flew on British Air through Heathrow. Anyone who has flown into and out of Heathrow knows this is a difficult airport to navigate. One of my clients was in a wheel chair. When we landed there were 2 wheel chairs for 10 people. The attendants had to each ferry 5 passengers. I stayed with my client and sent the other 7 on their own. They got lost, had to go through security unnecessarily and reached the other gate much later than expected. Luckily the plane was delayed but they didn't know that so it caused distress at the beginning of the trip. On the return I told the wheel chair client she would have to go alone with the attendant so the others were satisfied. Not only that we arrived late in the day so missed out on any pre-tour possibilities.

Fiona - tour manager and Laurence - driver ensured we had a great overview of Ireland with use of the bus sound system and their back and forth banter to tell us about what we were seeing as we traveled, and about the history, culture and people. We had ample time for seeing things in Dublin by skipping the Guinness tour, and on frequent stops on daily bus excursions. Overnight stays were in very nice hotels - Killarney Avenue, my most favorite as the town was very nice and close. Great itinerary and overall a very enjoyable trip.

Our tour guide Norman was awesome. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a good mixture of scheduled activities and free time. It was nice not to have to worry about how to get from one place to another and I feel like we really saw the highlights since we had a limited time. The only negative was after flying all night to have to spend almost 4 hours in the Heathrow Airport. It would have been better to have a brief layover in Boston or some other place than to fly further east to London and then back to Dublin. I would definitely go on another Collette tour and recommend Collette to friends.

I loved the Cliffs of Mohr. It was great to kiss the Blarney Stone and stay in a castle. I really think the trip hit the highlights. We saw a lot for a short trip. Very well organized. Again, our guide Norman and bus driver John were great!!

Every aspect of the trip was wonderful. The Medieval Dinner was spectacular starting with the mead tasting and harp and guitar music and the mengeling with others. The feast was delicious and fun to eat with only a knife. That entertainment was delightful with their singing and comical antics that liven the show. Also,, the visit to the Blarney Castle was great. We had good weather (a plus) and plenty of time to explore the grounds and the castle.

It was a fairly orqanized trip. Trouble getting into rooms on first day of arrival.Thought it could have been handeled in a more efficient manor. *** Additional thought. We did not know a "real" plan for Sunday of the trip until around Thursday or Friday because we were told it was TBA. I have been on many tours and I felt that was odd. Some of the Catholic travelers wanted to go go church, so they attended a service and we had free time until they returned from church. The protestants did not have that option. Nice enough guide, but seemed a bit negligent with specific details on many days. Gave us some history on our different adventures & seemed knowledgiable enough. I know there is a schedule to keep, but rushed us on some of the stops.

Collette does everything first class---I was very impressed. My favorite experiences were in Killarney and Dublin probably because we stayed at the hotel two nights. The Irish Pub in Killarney we went to had live Irish music and the best clam chowder I have ever eaten. Dublin I stayed at the hotel one of the days instead of going on the bus and had a wonderful 2 hour breakfast with an Irishman named John who was there visiting his wife Helen in hospital. I know it is necessary to cover a lot of ground with the bus---but too much time on the bus---not enough time at the sites. Otherwise---I will always chose Collette!!!

Our guide, I believe she was Alice was sooooo knowledgeable, seemed to have all the answers to our questions and was very pleasant. The only thing I was not pleased was our delivery at the airport from St. Louis. The driver from Mid-America dropped us off and we had a man take our luggage and point us in the right direction at Lambert, but the first of us who approached the check in counter we were told our flight had been cancelled. I have not travel internationally in a long time and my husband this was his first international flight and this was very upsetting. We were kind of lost. The attendant was able to get us on another flight to meet our flight in Newark, but this did not start our trip off very well.

We loved every experience. Restaurant selections were wonderful, the tour of Guiness and the whiskey distillery were great, and the shopping excursions were fun. Loved hearing the history of Ireland, both on our excursions and from David along the bus route.

We signed up for our trip nine months before our departure date. We were booked on flights that flew in the opposite direction of our travel destination and add four additional hours to our one-way travel time which was already painfully long. In addition, my travel companion and I were booked on seats away from each other on the aircraft which caused anxiety and reseating just ten days before we began our journey. I expected the service to be more professional.

The tour went well and the weather was outstanding. Our tour went in the opposite direction of other Collette tours and began at a location that was isolated from pubs, shopping, and entertainment. It made me feel like we lost a day of our six day tour. Our tour manager was a good guy, but he got a little too political with personal political views that were sometimes the opposite of mine.

The only tiny disappointment was that we didn’t have quite enough time in a couple of locations; for example, the Cliffs of Moher & Blarney Castle. Would have liked a little more time at each place to explore the grounds a bit more. The high point for us was spending the night at Cabra Castle. Loved it! Travel arrangements were well planned. Things went smoothly. Loved that Collette picked us up in our hometown & transported us to the airport. It was an amazing trip & tons of fun! We would do it again!!

United Airlines not so good beside missing the first day ,because of plane delay. 24 people were sent to one holet that didn't have room for . Had to get back on the shuttle for the second hotel. We missed our connecting flight. There was no one from Collette to help us make arrangements for our overnight stay or our continuing flight to Ireland. We were told our Collette trip started when we got to Ireland. The brochure indicates differently. We were booked on the next 8:35 pm flight which caused us to miss a whole day in Ireland. We did not get to stay in the castle. When we arrived in Ireland we had a hard time finding a Collette representative which turned out to be a bus driver. The bus was parked a considerable distance from the airport exit. For some it was too far. We were not allowed to have our luggage until we arrived in Ireland. It would have been nice to freshen up a bit before starting our tour. As it was we were taken directly to another bus to catch up with the rest of the tour group. The rest of the trip was great. We had an excellent tour guide and bus driver. Ireland is a beautiful country. I would recommend that the last night dinner and entertainment not go past 8 pm as the next morning was a very early one.

Their meals were well planned most of the time, and no I would not recommend them or go on another of their tours. Flight going in to Dublin was not thought out, to arrive later in the afternoon would have made more sense. It was extremely hard on many of the people on the turn because of health issues and limited mobility. When I tour I like to have local guides that can really tell you what it is like to live there. School requirements, using their transportation systems, they spent way to much time repeating their history. I did a Trafalger tour and one morning they took us to a local pub for an Irish Coffee and the high school students came to dance for us; in Alaska a high schooler working on the tour told us of their requirements to graduate in Alaska dealing with their extreme weather.

I enjoyed the tour immensely! Our tour guide and bus driver were both excellent! They were very knowledgeable about the country and were very helpful in assisting all travelers. Recommendations: I was disappointed that my sister and I were not seated together on our air flights. We have traveled with other tour groups, but have never been seated apart. I didn’t think to request that because it has never happened in all the years we have traveled together. She is eighty-one and it is helpful for me to be seated with her to assist her. Even the technology of the inflight movies can be difficult for her to maneuver. That was my only real concern. If I travel with your company again, I will be sure to state that we must be seated together.

one of my favorite experiences was touring the Irish Dairy farm and listening to stories of the owner of the farm. We saw a true picture of what the lives of the Irish is like. The Patriarch of the family had so many wonderful stories. One optional tour - to the restaurant in Dublin owned by U2 was really hyped up and it not meet with how it was described. We didn't have much opportunity to spend time in pubs and to hear the Irish music.

Good tour itinerary and hotels

Very good tour itinerary with nice hotels. I was disappointed that this groups of travelers, only 24 of us, never really "gelled" like other group tours I've experienced. Perhaps because the tour guide never allowed a time for travelers to introduce themselves to the group. And because this is a relatively short trip, most of us were just getting to know each other by the time the tour ended. This was a disappointment because on other trips I've returned home feeling happy about new friendships. In fact, as a result of a Collette trip I took three years ago, I communicate regularly with three sisters who became very good friends on the trip. The breakfasts provided at the hotels were generally quite good. The lunches/dinners provided as part of the tour were sub-par, I felt. I was especially disappointed in the dinner at Cabra Castle. I guess I expected something a little special of a castle meal. It was not always made clear to us when a beverage (beer/wine) was included. On at least one occasion we were surprised when presented with a bill. Our flights in both directions on American Airlines were a nightmare, being two hours late both ways, which resulted in us being absolutely exhausted upon arrival and choosing not to do any sightseeing in Dublin. The dinner entree on the trip to Ireland was just about inedible. We probably will not take a future Collette trip if it means flying on American Airlines. Despite some of these disappointments, the tour itinerary was very good and I especially enjoyed the Dingle Peninsula.

From **** at the wheel to ****our guide - along with every hotel, restaurant and tour in between - every single thing was outstanding. We could not have been more please. Our only complaint was that we'd wish it was 2 nights at each destination. Living from a suitcase is really not for us - but we'd definitely book with Colette again if we found a longer tour we were interested in. It was truly a wonderfully memorable week.

While every stop was amazing, I think Margaret and Padfy's farm was wonderful and Cabra castle was a jaw dropping, fabulous experience.

The accommodations and food was good. The bus driver was excellent. The tour director was knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. His accent was regional but also understandable. There were not enough planned evening activities but the days were full and enjoyable. The only reason I would not recommend Collette is that I make it a rule to avoid recommending anything that is subjective to individual taste. I enjoyed the tour very much.

The destinations were wonderful. The restaurants were great! The first Hotel The Ashling was a bit disappointing. The bed was not comfortable along with the pillows and the carpet was very used/old looking. Also the size of the tour of 44 with more than 20 seniors substantially slowed us down.

tour was great and the tour guide was wonderful the only problem I have is being placed at dinner with smoker's. I left dinner early one night and another did not come to the dinner because of a headache and the smell on the family of smoker's made me sick to my stomach . I lost a child to lung cancer who did not smoke and this disgusting to even sit near this group their clothes reeked of smoke

When the Spotlight tour we were interested in was cancelled they offered us a different tour at the same price. All of our questions from the time of booking to our departure were clearly answered.

Our tour guide, (personal details removed by Feefo), was excellent and because of her commentary we were able to better appreciate what we were seeing and experiencing. What prevented me from giving a 5 rating was our disappointment in not being able to see central Dublin due to St Patrick's Day activities.

I felt that our tour was very professionally managed and we were able to enjoy our trip in the best way possible thanks to Collette. Excellent hotels, tours, meals, coach bus and driver and our tour guide were the best.

We enjoyed all the locations we visited. Just the right amount of time in Dublin. The city tour of Dublin was perfect - knowledgeable city guide and in depth visits to two sights, St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Guinness Factory.

It was wonderful and everything was truly taken care of. Our guide ****was so friendly and knowledgeable from history to archaeology to geology to places to explore on our own. My husband left a converter for a medical device at one hotel and ******had a new one in its original packaging at the next hotel waiting! Our driver ***** was so sharp and skillful on the winding roads and city traffic. Loved loved the palace stay. Wow! B

The service of Collette was excellent. I think it helps that I booked through a local travel agent because I reached out to him several times about questions. The car service to and from the airport was over the top wonderful!

I have taken several group tours before with my high school. So when I compare Collette with EF or Explorica, Collette is far superior. The accommodations were excellent to the point that if others on the tour tried to compare them with USA accommodations I explained to them that for Europe standards, these were 5 star. My son and I were VERY impressed with the accommodations.The meals included were very good as well. When Collette covered the dinner costs, we all had a choice of wine, beer or another beverage. Our tour manager was okay, but I got the sense that he was an introvert in an extrovert's job. When I have done other tours, the manager was a people person and appeared to relate to people better. For example, the majority of the tour group transported to the airport very early in the morning, My son and I were leaving later so Collette provided a separate car. When we arrived to our gate, I saw our tour manager across the hall talking to someone else (looked like another tour manager). I waved and he acknowledged me. I did not want to interrupt their conversation so we sat down across the way (maybe 10 meters) away. The tour manager went on chatting for about 30-40 minutes and never took any initiative to come over and wish us safe travels, etc. This is odd because any other tour managers I have worked with would have done that. He wasn't unfriendly, but there were several examples like this throughout the tour. The only other thing that bothered me about the tour was that after we left Killarney one day, Collette gave us almost an hour to shop at Moriarity's. This was crazy ridiculous. It was a small store and several of us commented that Collette or the tour manager must get a percentage of the sales from Moriarity's. Later in the tour, we went to the Cliffs of Moher and only had two hours to hike and eat. It was so beautiful there and I wish there had been four hours (at minimum) scheduled for that site. Personally, my son and I could have stayed there for most of the day. Still the value for the money was excellent and I would recommend Collette to anyone. We will probably use them again.
