You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

The many different sites we toured were all wonderful experiences ranging from the quaint humble towns along the coast to the magnificence of the most famous of sites like the Vatican. The guides were insightful, funny, and very friendly. The bus transportation and accommodations were exceptional, providing much comfort, safety and providing all our needs.

Our tour guide, Daniel Boghan, went above and beyond to introduce us to Italy and all it has to offer. Our accommodations, meals, and tours were excellent, and we couldn't have had a better time! Our tour manager, Daniel, was the best. He was so knowledgeable, he had so many stories and he treated us like family. We all became family. Accommodations were only the best. Our inclusive tours and our chosen tours were so interesting. I have no complaints.

Hotel in Sorrento was terrible. On the bus, everyone got sick with a cold. Tour manager was too preoccupied with the Art History of Italy, at the expense of other facets. Meals were Very ordinary. Not being able to use the rest room on the bus was an unforgivable sin.

Not enough time at major attractions, such as the Coliseum, Pompeii, Michelangelo’s David. We were not able to go into the accompanying museums. The “tours” of the pasta factory, vineyards and Murano glass were poorly diguised sales events offering little education. The included lunches and dinners were poor quality with no selection options. Some of the local tour guides were informative other gave a cursory overview. Most of the accommodations were 4 star which included sufficient breakfast menus. The bus was very comfortable. Our tour guide and driver excellent. . For the price, this tour was disappointing. I would not recommend it considering the number of similar tour offerings currently available.

The tour was comprehensive, however, the accommodations, especially in Sorrento were not 4-star as advertised, especially if you are a single. I paid 1-1/2 x a "double" and was put in the noisiest areas of each hotel. Alleys that adjoin the restaurant so you have carts over cobblestones from 5 am to midnight, rooms that were obviously used for staff behind the front desk and 10 ft from the street, a room next to the employee office that conducted 5 am phone calls at the top of his lungs, and a room over the smoking area.

I loved seeing the history, architecture, paintings, but most of all seeing the people and the culture of Italy. The food was wonderful!!! They were some things I would like improved. For the Positano option, include a local guide to give insight on what to see in Positano, give some history on the town. It also would have been nice to have more time and something to actually do in Positano- a cooking lesson, a gelato making lesson, etc. It was beautiful, but we had no guidance and not enough time there. On the extension to Milan, our first guide, Augusta, basically gave our tour, which was great, then left us to get back to the hotel on our own. We had to ask her to at least give us directions for the train going back and make sure we were on the correct one. We didn’t expect to be left in the middle of Milan with no direction whatsoever. The hotels were great, near to shopping, restaurants, etc. Some of the rooms were super small with not much room to place suitcases and belongings.

The tour manager Paolo was fabulous. I fell in Venice and the tour manager took me to the hospital by water taxi and stayed hours with me and when I was suffering extreme pain because I fractured my upper arm. The tour manager overcame many difficulties and hardships to help me and was very kind and compassionate with me and my cousin I am a physician and neurologist in miami Florida and can say that he treated me like I do my patients or a family member.The tour manager was also vey knowledgeable of the history of all the places we visited and made the tour a lot of fun with his quiet sense of humor..Also the tour manager helped us with all our problems and logistics. All hotels we very good especially the hotel Regina Palace in stresa which was gorgeous. However the hotel in Rome was not as good . We were there some days before the tour began and the elevators broke for a day and there was no hot water one whole day. My husband and I went with Collete to the Mediterranean hotel in Rome 2 years ago and it was excellent.All in all it was a great trip with wonderful experiences and in spite of my fall I continued the tour till the end and I am happy I went.

The pace was too fast for us. We were always struggling to keep up. On several occasions, we just sat out the walking tours at a sidewalk cafe and people watched. And that was OK with us. The hotels were great except for a lack of safety concerns in the bathrooms. I fell out of one shower and could not get into or out of another bathtub. The tour guide and bus driver were both great! Could not have been better. I would also suggest you offer better seating on the planes as an option.

My summer vacation with Collette Tours. Fun being the 12 year old mascot wearing my new yellow hat with moveable ears. Helped crowd see where guide was going. Guide was patient, polite, helpful and tall. Loved all the friendship from adults on the bus and sightseeing. I'll never forget Italy and Switzerland.

I made a short notice(30)day reservation for my daughter and great granddaughter to view Italy that I had visited with Collette 24 years ago. The helpfulness of Collette staff was fantastic to make this quick vacation possible. With 46 guests are Guide had his mettle tested but he came out with flying colors. Dino's knowledge of local and world history from his home in war time Bosnia to Ukraine today was outstanding and meaningful to all. He handled adversity well and I thank you for all your extra effort!.

First of all this was an expensive tour and did not deliver the itinerary they advertised. So they say it was due to the weather. We had to skip the trip to the Island of Capri, due to the weather, instead we stayed in Sorrento which was lovely, however, the tour mgr. took us to a Etched Wood store where they tried to sell us expensive handcrafted items. Mgr also took us to a Leather shop where they tried to sell us also very expensive factory made leather goods. In Venice Mgr took us to a glass blowing manufacturing factory where they also tried to sell us extremely expensive items. Wait, it gets worse, we took a boat to the glass factory, however, on the return we had to ride the public transportation boat, now with Covid this was not a good idea as it was too crowed and most of us had to stand enroute to our hotel. We visited Pompeii, the tour guide there was below average, his jokes were of poor taste, he had us tour a brothel in old Pompeii, I did not care to even go into the dwelling, however, my tour mgr. insisted I had to in order to follow the tour. This tour guide was also persistent in collecting his tips. We were told we could not visit the Simplon Pass in Switzerland, due to the weather. We then figured it out, there were only four of us in the tour that had signed up. No it was not cost effective for Collette. We stopped in Verona, where, Mgr invited all to follow the custom of groping the statue of Juliet's breast, then we were told we could go shopping again. How yes, the worst was the lemon and fresh mozzarella farm, they made pizzas for us, however, prior to our lunch we sat thru a demonstration of pizza making. The owner gave to two gentlemen an apron with a naked Michelangelo image on it, however, added to the image was an image of an enormous *****. This was not only of poor taste it was offensive to each gentleman and his wife. There was a couple of persons that tested positive to Covid, in retrospect we then should have all been tested, as the person was sitting behind me on the motorcoach. The day before departure we all took the antigen test, we had to pay cash, no credit cards. Upon arriving home I tested positive for covid. This could have been avoided in so many ways during this trip. -

This tour was a great fast-paced overview of Italy. While I would have liked to go more in-depth for the sights in some of the locations, like entry into some of the cathedrals, there just wasn't time. I was able to enter a couple on the free-time though. I would like to return someday with one of the more region-specific tours. My wife and I chose to not do the gondola ride in Venice but to use the time to enter St. Marks. The optional Roman Serenade was just not worth the $110 per person. Thanks only to our tour manager's add-on walking tour in Trastevere, the experience was not a total bust.

The tour provided us with many opportunities to explore Italy and experience European life now and thousands of years ago, thanks to the expertise of the tour manager and guides. There was a lot of walking for some of us that were elderly, but our tour manager was able to accommodate our needs and offer alternate experiences.

The tour manager is very well organized, knowledgeable, courteous and funny. He was the star of the trip. The accommodations were excellent, in central locations, very convenient and comfortable, good ac and bathroom. The reason why I didn’t give 4 or 5 stars were because the food was really bad. Meals were not served hot!. The second reason was that I missed my flights both for the departure and the return. I didn’t know whose fault that was but we didn’t receive the info package for the departure at had a very stressful time at the check in and had to pay a travel agency at the airport for help and missed our flight. The return flight info were wrong and we showed at the gate after our flight was gone.

We only had three days since the tour was cancelled after state department issued a level 3 warning. Tour guides were good. Coach and driver were great. Tour manager was informed, fluent in Italian and always available for advice.

I commend Collette for cancelling our tour when they did. I think their quick action saved us from being infected with COVID-19. I do feel like they could have communicated with us better. We did get refunds, but some of the group just found the money in their accounts. I only received communication about the refund because I emailed them first. I also emailed with questions about the virus and that email was never answered.

Our tour manager was excellent and while upset that the tour was cancelled, handled the situation professionally. Before the cancellation, she was very knowledgeable on the history of Italy. Our local guides for the three days we toured were also excellent. We had two days in Rome and were able to see Pompeii. We were happy with our experiences in both spots.

When I arrived in Italy I had Stefania Boccucci as our tour manager. I have traveled to Europe and other countries with tour managers several times. And I have to say Stefania was the worst tour guide I have ever had. The way she talked to several of us and rolling her eyes and giving the sign of the cross and praying was the last straw for me when I seen her do it. Sure she will say she never did this; but I know what I saw it and I know who she did this to; without them even knowing her behavior. I will never recommend going to Italy if Stefania is the tour guide.

I enjoyed the tour. My issue was with the rooms we stayed in. Only one of the five places we stayed I would recommend. The other four rooms had serious issues. One room actually smelled horrible. Our tour guide was excellent. I learned so much on this trip.

Our tour manager was well prepared plus got to know names of all the tour participants. The tour included extra sites like a cameo factory, leather factory and more. When the Isle of Capri was inaccessible, an alternate site was quickly arranged which was very interesting. The tour is a good overall introduction to Italy.

Better tour director. Not very organized. Had to walk a long distance at airport to bus and arrived Venice and walked another long distance in driving rain storm. We knew in advance storm moving in. Our initial tour manager was Stefania Boccucci. She was so hard to understand. Our first meeting at hotel only those sitting close to her could hear her. When I told her we couldn't hear her, she repeated a few things but with a bad attitude, acting as if we weren't paying attention. It was apparent she wasn't happy working with older people. On one ferry ride a lady and I rode on the upper deck. When we landed, she came up and "yelled" at us to get off the ferry. We were just waiting for the bulk of the passengers to go down. When my friend told her to not talk like that to us again, Stefania just mocked us. At one point I asked her something and her response was "if you're going to act like children, then I'm going to treat you like children". She mistook what I said but never-the-less, that was an improper response. She hurt her ankle so was replaced the second week - thank goodness. There are things that happened to others but that's up to them to tell you. You are a good company, don't let her represent you.

Took an upgrade for Stressa hotel, to get lake view room. Perhaps we should be told it will be dark when we get there and dark when we return the next day. Not worth the $200. Felt ripped off.

A good tour company provides the people with a good tour guide which the people coming from the US can understand... and one who is willing to share interesting facts about the area you are traveling through. Our tour guide spoke with such a heavy accent that we did not understand her many times! She also did not make any extra effort to share information with us as we traveled throughout Italy...fortunately we had very good step on local guides. 41 people on a tour is also to many... it would of been nice to have just the 25 which was what our group was... but they added 16 more to our group once we got to Italy.

Our tour bus transportation and driver were excellent. Our tour manager and local guides were also excellent. I would NOT give the Limo service in the Rome Airport a high mark. They were difficult to find at the airport since they were back behind 3-4 rows of other drivers. We could not find him until a baggage clerk saw our Collette tags and showed us where he was standing in the back. Then we had to carry all of our luggage .9 of a mile to the limo. There were a lot of elderly people who had to carry all their luggage and walk far. I spoke with several people on our trip and they all had the same experience. I would use another company in the future.

We loved the pick up and return limo to the airports and back home. One the trip, he experienced drivers placed safety first. They got us where we needed to go! The local guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. We loved them. Last but not least the experienced and knowledgeable tour manager. Wow!! Denise was organized and informative. We didn't have a wasted moment to each destination with commentary on the countryside and upcoming cities and what to expect. We cannot thank Collette enough for having experts in every field. There were many cites and sights to see. We wanted a tour! This may be a once in a lifetime vacation and we saw it all. Rome had an endless history to explore and Florence was beautiful. Walking Venice was so different than I thought it would be with it's narrow streets and bridges. Pompeii was excellent. TStresa was breathtaking and the hotel was excellent.

Too many to list. But you are not asking for the negatives. I would say the overall dirty environment in historic Rome was a disappointment. Walking throughout the trip could be hazardous. The time in the Sistine Chapel was so uncomfortable. I did not feel that the space was safe for tourists in case of a fire or panic. Too many people were crowded into the space and there was only one small exit open for people. That situation is dangerous and should not be allowed.

This was our first Collette tour, and it exceeded our expectations! We wanted a comprehensive tour of Italy, and that is what was delivered. Our tour guide, Sergio, was excellent! He was a wealth of knowledge, interesting, sense of humor, and kept the large group of 42 informed and on time. The tour bus was comfortable with reclining seats, foot rest, and a bathroom. Our bus driver, Antonio was excellent; he was friendly, great driver, and even provided water and candy. Our local guides were all excellent, especially Fidora in Rome. The Hotels we stayed at were all clean, comfortable, and in the best locations. The extra excursions we paid for (Vatican tour, Opera night, Gondola ride) were all well worth the additional charge. Our included meals were all outstanding. Finally, the door to door service was such an added benefit for us. We had the time of our lives, and we can't wait to plan another trip! Thanks!

Great tours. The group was great, but too large, 45 people made it hard at times to experience some sites. For example, stopping at a gift shop with 30 minutes and maneuvering around our group plus regular tourists did not allow time to move or ask salespeople questions. At times tours were rushed to fit in everything planned for the day, especially with the large group. But overall, very pleased with the tours, food, and accommodations.

Italian Vistas included several famous cities and the tours both included and optional gave us a great overview. Our tour ma anger was a big part of it. He was organized and efficient. He made sure everyone was accounted for st every location and that was difficult. Some people just got the time wrong and one particular person was always late. Our manager, Frederick Alvarez was a very patient man! I tho k his expertise made the trip as successful as it was.

The coordination of the tour was great to be able to see everything we saw. Denise kept us on point and on schedule. What I did not appreciate was the nickle and diming of the local tour guides for tips and then additional tips for the tour manager and the bus driver. What the bus driver did and our tour manager did, is what I would expect their roles to have done. If I want to tip for exceptional service, I would have done do. But for a trip costing $4000 per person already, the additional tips were unnecessary. If it is an “expectation” build it into the trip cost. I shouldn’t have to keep digging into my pocket for my vacation.

Great Tour Manager Salvatore Uccello. he took care of us daily and introduced us to a very experienced local guide at each destination. We enjoyed delicious food, beautiful Hotels fantastic historic sights. . We needed an organized trip since we were a party of twelve. All breakfasts were included and a few dinners so we had the freedom on the other evenings to search on Yelp for restaurants with great reviews and we were pleased with all of our choices. We will definitely book another trip with Collette. We loved our Italian Vistas itinerary and the fun people we met.

I have taken five overseas trips with Collette. The Italian Vistas trip was great! Pilar, our tour guide, was excellent! She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, had a good sense of humor, and an all around great guide. She went above and beyond what was expected of her, for example, she showed us how to get to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, which were not included (should be!). I would definitely recommend this trip.

The hotels were great except for the bath/shower experiences. The tubs are very hard to get into and out of, and often very slippery-dangerous! I would recommend the choice of showers only for any European tour. There are so many favorites, one of the most memorable experiences was seeing the Tower of Pisa. I wish we would have had more time there so we could have gone into the Tower. The Vatican, David, Pompeii, Venice, and the dinners are some of the other highlights. It was also neat to spend a day in Switzerland. This was a wonderful tour with an excellent tour guide and an excellent bus driver!!

From start to finish, the whole experience was flawless. The friendly folk on the telephone were most helpful in getting the tour booked, taking the time to find the right flights and connections, explaining different airline rules, etc. The tour manager we had on the tour itself was great. She provided accurate and educational information, managed the whole group so we were where we were supposed to be at any given time, all with a friendly smile and attitude.

It's difficult to decide which of so many would be my favorite memorable experience, they were all wonderful. The tour was very well organized, touching on all the spots in Italy that I wanted to see. If pressed, I would choose the day trip to the Isle of Capri as a highlight.

Italian Vistas is a nice itinerary because you get to see all the famous destinations in Italy in one trip. In 13 days, we visited Rome, Vatican City, Pompei, Sorrento Coast, Capri, wine tasting in Tuscany, Florence, Venice, Pisa, Verona, Lago Maggiore, Lucarno, Switzerland and ended in Milan. The hotels were located within walking distance of popular sights. The restaurants chosen by Collette were decent. Transportation was comfortable and stress free.

He made our experience the best ever. Our coach driver Guan Carlo made me feel so safe even on those scarry Italian roads. They were the best. All the local guides could not have been better. Rome was so interesting with such amazing history but the crowds were difficult, would be worse for those who do not walk well or quickly. Florence was favorite area, the Duomo is spectacular and the Tuscan monastery tour and then feast was awesome.

Florence was amazing. Would have liked to spend more time in Florence, there is so much to see. No time to go into Domo. Hotel in Venice was not the best. Could not open 2 suitcases in the room. Water leaked from bathtub out onto the carpet in the room. Hotel in Milan was not near restaurants. Mattia, our tour guide, was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about him. He went above and beyond everyday. He is a GEM!!!!!!

Our tour dates were April 6 - 21, 2019. The tour manager, Daniel Boghen, was outstanding. He saw to it that all of the guides were on time and transfers took place seamlessly. All of the local guides demonstrated a thorough understanding of their tour and took advantage deviations of the standard tour to add to the experience. While the bus ride from Sorrento to Florence was long, Daniel pointed out sights of interest as we went along to keep the ride interesting for those who were not napping. The accommodations were very good and only got better as the tour went on.

Our trip was everything we hoped for and more. The schedule was made so everyone could make full advantage of every day. The meals were great and the hotels were also fine. A lack of air conditioning required an adjustment for us Americans but were otherwise fine. All the transfers were made on time. The bus was clean and the bus driver was great also, keeping everyone safe. All of the tour guides were fantastic, especially Christian at the Vatican in Rome. He was extremely knowledgeable. Having scheduled times to visit most of the larger venues maximized our time and eliminated waiting in lines. We loved every city, museum, special site, and experience we had. It was simply marvelous. The best for last. Paolo Santioli was our Tour Manager from Rome to Stresa and was absolutely perfect. He kept everyone informed and on time and "Mama Mia", he displayed a great knowledge of Italy and had a wonderful sense of humor. Paolo should receive special recognition for all he did for us. Too many to name just one. We loved Rome, the Vatican, the Colosseum, the Catacombs, Dinner with the Tenors, Florence, Pompeii, Pisa, Sorrento, seeing Mt. Vesuvius, Capri and Ana Capri, Sorrento, Stresa, Venice, and Milan. They were all very special places to visit. We also enjoyed the Tuscan Feast, Gondola Ride in Venice, the Glass Factory in Murano, the Monastery, all inclusions and extras.

The tour in itself was great, Marta was the best I have ever had and this was my third or fourth tour with your company. The only problem was the transport, we left at 8 oclock with a two hour layover in San Francisco to LA where we had another three hour layover before we left for Rome. I took a nother tour where we left from S.F direct to Rome. We were all basically seniors so were so tired by the time we reached Rome it took several days to be able to enjoy the tour!

It would be very hard to pick one thing to say I enjoyed the most. I loved the shear beauty of all the buildings and the beauty of the Vatican. Very crowded, which I expected but not the extent since this is off season.

Everything about the trip to Italy was extremely well planned and executed. Our tour guide was fabulous! We could never have experienced as much as we did on our own. It was nice to go on a vacation and be taken care of so well. All we had to worry about was who we wanted to buy souvenirs for. Even that was covered with numerous suggestions! I have told all my friends about Collette after returning from both trips I've made with them.

The US customer Service was very good. The tour, however, was nothing special and our airline reservations for the trip home were very bad. The optional tours were very poor, just tourist traps not even well disguised. We waisted far to much time being taken to a Fake leather factory, a fake glass blowing factory, a jewelry store and a winery that was too fake to even be disguised. Every tour should have a bit of something special, this tour did not.

I got sick on the trip and our tour director Sergio did a fabulous job looking after me. The hotels were top drawer. the bus driver and luggage handlers could not have been better. Yes, I would book with Collette again. The only disappointment was the tours did not include admission to many churches or museums like a tour of the Roman Forum.

We covered a lot of ground and sites in twelve days considering that travel time was needed to get around the country of Italy. What made it so wonderful was our guide Sergio, a native Italian, who kept the bus riding time as enjoyable and informative as the time at the sites. He was so-o-o personable. The tour covered most of the noteworthy spots especially if Italy may just be a one-time trip. We loved it.

I loved it all but especially Venice because it exceeded any preconceived notion I had of what a city of waterways would be like. Made my one expensive purchase at the Murano glass site. Of course, spending our last nights at the Regina Palace Hotel in Stresa was a nice touch....and what a hotel.

Hotels were very good! Stephen, our daily guide, was Excellent! Organization of whole trip was very good! Our bus driver was Excellent! Food was very good! Extra excursion, Gondola ride, was very SHORT! Barely 20 minutes! Our paddler was always shouting at the paddler in front of us and "bumping" into them. Not worth the total fee charged. The office in Milan's airport on trip back home was closed (too early) so I couldn't redeem my sales slips (about $1,000) to collect the tax refund do back to me. Plus, the connecting flight in Belgium didn't allow enough time to track down the office and collect the taxes on our items spent. NOT GOOD! Still haven't collected! Fr. David Harvey is a "great host!"

Capri wasted a whole day most of which was spent riding a ferry.on a return to Italy my group of 16 people agreed to ont go to Capri. More time would have been spent in Sorrento.

I took the Italian Vistas tour and it was incredible! We went everywhere and saw sooooo much. Collette provided top quality accommodations and knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining guides. Our tour manager, Tina Hyatt, went out of her way to make sure ALL had the trip of a lifetime. She went over and above with me. I wanted to see Herculaneum but it was not on the scheduled tour but she found a way to make it happen for me while the rest of the tour spent the day at Capri - she was amazing and so was Herculaneum! Time has a great personality, enthusiastic and energetic. If you are planning a trip to Italy-check our Collette! You won’t be disappointed

As usual the tour was very well organised and gave the snapshot of Italy we wanted. With the large number on the trip and a large number of included meals these became a bit similar and therefore monotonous and naturally the service was, at the best, slow. We will in future look for trips with smaller numbers, twenty or less. Costs have risen significantly over the last three or four years. Perhaps reducing the number of included meals or meals which form part of an optional trip would help.

Well designed tour for us. Excellent choice of hotels. Tour director made the difference imparting culture history general knowledge and likable personality keeping all 46 of us happy. Couldn't get to Switz because of highway construction. After asking for OUR permission, she arranged a spur of the moment tour to Oira where they make cheese and wine - beautiful town of 250 people, NONE in our group were disappointed that we didn't see Switzerland! You can't top that kind of experience!

John Carlos is a GREAT driver Denise could not have been any better. - always was available - some had walking problems and she ran the tours so everyone had a great time. - She professionally reminded some on the tour that Italy and some of the hotels (which were GREAT) were not Americanized, and to enjoy these new experiences. - Mary and I would have no problems taking another tour with Denise or any of the other tour directors we have been with.

Comprehensive tour of Italy with more than moderate walking

This was a well organized tour. Transportation door to door was excellent. Airline arrangements were excellent except for too little time in Paris to make the connection.However, after a call to Collette HQ, the representative made that trouble free. The bad part of the tour was that there was much too much walking from bus drop off points to various tours. Not only was the walks exhausting but the pace was too fast and it was difficult to keep up with the guide. Hotels were good but they were not centrally located. The meals that Collette provided were not that good although acceptable. Despite all of this the tour was very comprehensive and I recommend it to anyone who is traveling for the first time to Italy.

Wonderful trip. This was our first group guided tour. Don't know how it could have been any better. Really exceeded our expectations. From the tour manager, coach driver, local guides everyone was excellent. Hotels and food were great. You certainly stay on the go but that is what we wanted. If you go that far you want to see all you can. To sum it up, everything was first class. Would highly recommend Collette and look forward to going we them again!

I was not happy with the people who made the flight arrangements. If I had it to do over again, I probably would make my own flight arrangements. On the flight over, my seat assignment somehow was changed, and the seat I was originally assigned was empty. I would up all n the very back of the plane with a noisy group of tenagers. The first time I inquired about upgrading I was told to wait. Then when I later inquired, I would have to pay $300 more because I was changing my ticket. Not impressed.

Hotel room in Florence was extremely SMALL. All others good especially the last one. Rome was the most historical but all excursions extremely crowded.

Traveling with Collette in Italy was the memory of a lifetime!

First time vacationing in Europe, and first time with Collettte. Incredible experience and worthwhile investment! Great value. Avoided long tourist lines, and got to see more points of interest than if I were on my own. Hotels were tremendous, the motor coach was quite comfortable, and all the food and wine was superb. Our tour manager, Sergio Solazzo, made a huge difference. He really took care of us. Two thumbs up for Sergio!!

Saw more sights and learned more history than I thought possible. Rome, Anacapri, and Florence were highlights. There was considerable walking and standing involved, but the tour manager maintained a reasonable pace, and I could keep up as a 73-year-old. Couldn't have seen and did as much at a slower pace.

I called Collette over a week again with issues during our tour and I’m surprised no one called back. To make a long story short, we had a woman with a walker. We waited and waited and waited every step of the tour. Including waiting at the bus for an hour because they were late and then forgot their passport. I would appreciate a call before we book an Ireland tour. TIA

Marta was an excellent Tour Manager exhibiting GREAT patient, very knowledgeable and informative. She explained the history of Italy thoroughly and was able to answer all our questions. When she wasn't able to, she would asked the local guides and follow up with us immediately. She was extremely personable and energetic.

Hotels location were walking distance to the plazas, and Marta gave us directions on how to return to hotel via water taxi, etc. Bus Driver was professional, assisting passengers on and off the bus. He exhibited an excellent attitude and friendly, trying to always go beyond the call of duty.

Italian Vistas was a wonderful way to see a lot of Italy in a short time. We saw just about everything you can think of when you think of Italy. Our tour manager, ****** was great. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. She arranged for a cooking class in Rome that was lots of fun. Make sure you are in pretty good shape and have comfortable walking shoes, you will need them!

It is a great tour. Sunrise over the Duomo viewed from our breakfast room in Florence! The city tour and museums in Florence. The Autogrill was an unexpected surprise. Be sure and get the hot chocolate. All the meals were fantastic with all you can drink vino rosso. I know why people go back to Italy over and over.

Two suggestions: the brochure says the limo TO the airport is tipped, but no mention of a tip in limo FROM the airport. Seems both should be treated the same, and I'd like Collette to take care of the tip on both and say so in the brochure; secondly, it would be good to provide travelers an option of ordering some euros ahead of time so we aren't scrambling for local currency in the right denominations at the start of the trip.

Will use them again! Tour manager was really top notch. Had a great group of fellow travelers who made the trip so enjoyable too. Trip was well paced. Hotels were in excellent locations. Rooms were very small but this is typical for European travel. Some the sponsored demonstrations and visit were too long.but all were enjoyable. Comfort and safety were certainly a priority for us. Would like to have had free water in the coach as other tour companies have had when we travel.

Excellent tour manager and local tour guides. Incredibly skilled bus driver for winding, narrow roads to crowded city streets. Only letdown was pickup driver from airport in Rome was hard to find and then he wanted to wait for others who had not arrived. We finally got to the hotel (without them), late for introductions. There needed to be another driver for the next arrivals.

Stresa was a wonderful place to relax after the busy schedule of sights and cities. Pompeii was unexpectedly impressive. The Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica were awesome. Sure would like to see all that art without 1000's of people around. It'd be even more inspirational!

All tours and excursions were very easy to manage time wise, but of course there is never enough time to see it all. Since I like any kind of history, The Rome ruins and Pompeii itself peeked my interest. but even as young man I was a Michel Angelo fan and seeing the Pieta with my own eyes chocked me up.

The kind you would get in a non-tourist area.

Loved the sites we visited. Stressa was beautiful, when were arrived in the evening it was raining and the clouds were covering the lake so we could not see much. But when we woke up in the morning the rain had pasted through, sky was blue, there was snow on the Swiss Alps foothills and clear view of lake, island and the Alps. We had great luck with the Weather!

We loved the Italian Vistas tour! All of our tours, tour guides, hotels and optional excursions were top notch. For our first trip to Italy, it gave us a great sampling of where to go and what to see. The food! Well, I could write a book on the food and wine alone!! I would love to return and concentrate on the smaller towns. Our tour guide and driver were magnificent! If you are considering this tour, don't hesitate! I think the late October/early November was a great time to visit. We had 33 in our group and met some amazing people. This was our 4th Collette trip and we keep returning because we have loved every trip with them. Well done!!

1. Not able to book the tour on line. When I filled in my address your system does not recognize Singapore. 2. I have to book through an agent in Vancouver that I used for my Gate 1 tour to Spain in 2015. 3. Your tour information, name tag, luggage tag etc. was delivered to the wrong address according to my agent, Marlin Travel. They didn't receive it until 28th September Wednesday which does not allow Marlin Travel in Vancouver to mail it to me in Singapore on time before my departure on Saturday 1st October.

We took the tour to learn as much as we could about Italy and see the most important sites. That the tour did do very well. We also had a much better than expected, terrific meal in Florence. But the time taken with the demonstrations felt like 1 minute and the buying time an hour. Tell people to bring hair conditioner (only one hotel supplied it) and if visiting Venice mosquito repellent. If there was some way to split the tours to faster walkers who want to learn vs slower walkers who want to buy.

I do not have a favourite memory as each place we visited had their unique spots. Having free time to discover on our own was really appreciated. I would not go to Sorrento or Isle of Capri again. Chris in Rome really showed his love and his knowledge of his city.

When my husband and I plan trips on our own; and we often travel in the U. S. on our own. We are always challenged to find safe, clean hotels close to the sites we wish to visit. I am very concerned about cleanliness! Finding good restaurants can be even more of a challenge. We really like trying new cuisines, a lot. Collette makes it easy to travel abroad. We have been pleased with the hotels they choose. The hotel breakfast have been good, but dinners are not the best. We like that Collette plans the sightsee and buys the tickets before hand. That would be difficult for us on our own. Collette does a excellent job providing a nice bus and excellent drivers for all sightseeing. Your tour guides are excellent. They add so many background facts to the country and sights. The guides add a since of safety, too. We can set back and really enjoy ourselves. We are always sharing our trips with our friends. We tell them all they need to plan their trips with Collette. They will not be disappointed.

Assigned seats we were given months prior to trip were released by airline. Some where along the line Collette was not informed. When we found out 3 days prior to trip....very stressful times were had. We specifically did early booking to get special seating arranged. All in all I understand they said the airlines were at fault...Collette should have steppes ip and remedies the problem.

Our guide was knowledgable and efficient and the hotels were wonderful. I believe the amount of days that were spent in certain cities should be adjusted- one less day in Rome and another day in Florence would be good.

Overall a great time but there were some major disappointments. First, our airline scheduled through Collette allowed us only the legal 45 minutes at JFK between flights. It's a big airport and we would have not made the connection if our flight from Orlando had not arrived early. We literally ran; our luggage did not! Collette personnel blamed the airlines, but it was your personnel who ultimately scheduled it. There were other options, one of which we had agreed to when we first discussed the trip. We could also blame our travel agent, but it is Collette who ultimately booked the two flights. NOT a good start to what was our dream trip.

The tours and transportation were excellent. My first disappointment was at the airport. I couldn't locate the tour group and no one made an attempt to locate me. A bit stressful. Our tour guide was very professional but did not help me with a problem that she had twice promised she would. She was a bit condescending when she spoke to me. That lessened my opinion of her.

There were so many beautiful places and fun things, that it's hard to pick one. Venice was wonderful but, so we're Florence, Tuscany, The Sorento Coast, as was Capri and all the places we visited. Evan the tremors from the earthquake were a memorable experience.

Everything went as planned. There was a lot to cover, almost not enough time to get it all covered without having to hurry. The timeline was packed. We took a morning off to sleep late and rest. We had a good group that was on time and got along with each other.

We covered Italy and saw all the things we wanted to visit. Our grand daughter wanted to see Juliets balcony and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

This was an amazing trip! Everything was top notched from the Tour Director, Bus Driver, Tour Guides with the historical facts and points of interest! Hotels were very nice (A/C was a problem everywhere) and opportunities to take side trips or shop and relax in beautiful surroundings...all were top notch.

This was our 4th Collette tour. Like the ones before, our Tour Manager was warm, welcoming, well organized, and extremely knowledgeable. They make you feel like family, and we have made new friends with each tour. It was a busy 2 weeks, which is how we traveled from one end of Italy to the other. They know where and when to visit each site, and have priority entrance to special and popular events. The hotels are top notch, just be prepared for small European size bathrooms. Our last stay was in an amazing converted palace, with views to match!

As our adult daughter put it "a trip of a lifetime!" There was so much to see and do, yet you could stay back and relax if you wanted to. I am sure we saw things that the average tourist would miss. Two of our favorite cities were Florence and Stresa. The boat rides and trip to see Murano glass being formed into beautiful pieces was exciting. It is hard to narrow it down to a couple of favorites - it was all so much fun and enjoyable.

I have been pleased with the tour managers, who have extensive knowledge in the places I have been to. Hotels are anywhere from good to great. Activities are well chosen and there is always enough personal time to do things on ones own. One thing Collette offers that keeps me coming back year after year is that Collette offers transportation to and from the airport if one lives within 50 miles of the airport.

I enjoyed all the places that we toured in Italy. My favorite places were the Isle of Capri and Florence. A couple of the local tour guides were not real interesting, hard to understand and could have offered more general interesting information pertaining to the area or eliminated altogether. (Local Guide for Rome and Pompeii were better) The tour of the Monastery/dinner and the Tuscan family owned winery tour/ lunch were great choices. Good selection of extra excursions offered.

The only problem that I had was at the airport in Rome. I spent at least 20 minutes trying to find Collette. I found the young lady by accident. She didn't hold up her Collette sign. It was lying at her side.

Our tour manager, Gary Bowling was excellent. He was very knowledgeable. The trip itself was amazing. There was so much to see in Rome. I enjoyed the option tour "Rome by Night" "Dine with the Tenors" was very entertaining. Also the Gondola ride in Venice was good. Stresa was beautiful. The hotel "Regina Palace" was fantastic. The spa was to die for!

One of the hotels was cancelled and was replaced due to other reasons. Other than this cancellation and replacement, it was awesome. We received a Free Dinner in return.

You get what you pay for. Good first time trip. But will not do it again.

For the price it is ok. The walking tours are way too short and too much touristsy type of activities. Too many trips to designated shopping venues and spending too much time on the road ( high speed trains are available you know). Meals provided are so so. I would suggest the company with the above caveats. Venues are too crowded and too little time allocated to do much.

The complete tour package was exceptional. Our Tour Manager, Marta Adamo, was professional and very knowledgeable. She accommodated above and beyond to the thirty-one/thirty-two participants. Also, our bus driver Leonardo, was amazing to be able to maneuver the narrow streets of Italy, engage with the tour participants and keep us all safe. There isn't one particular event to say was the best the whole tour in it self was memorable.

Considering this was our first experience with Collette there's nothing negative to note. Our Tour Manager, Marta Adamo was exceptional and cannot be commended enough. She presented herself professionally, as a friend as well as acted above and beyond. We appreciated being provided with helpful information, such as, the do's and don'ts so that we can experience the best of our tour. She was very accommodating to the thirty-one/thirty-two participants. We loved the lodging at four star hotels and being centrally located. We loved how basically everything was handled for us, such as, our breakfast, dinners and luggage. Including our transportation from the beginning like home to airport, the bus driver (Leonardo) during our tour and from island to island. Also, we were amazed at the knowledge with each tour guide provided with our excursions there wasn't a question unanswered.

It is amazing that they can navigate those narrow roads & never hit another car The hotels were great & the food was amazing.
