You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

Travelling on Air Canada through Toronto should be avoided if at all possible. The airport is described by locals as disorganized and worse. Limited space for jumbo jet capacity planes in waiting areas, multiple gate changes for multiple flights all at the same time, at least a 6 hour delay getting off the ground with no real explanation and passenger gridlock in the hallways. What happened to concern for passenger safety once in the air? Sleeping with bags on toes and dinner plates in lap all night is not it! Plane seats are reconfigured underneath to have a quarter of the size of the bag it should accommodate. Cabin crew told me directly to bus my own dinner plate to the galley! The Collette plans were generally very enjoyable.

Beautiful tour, but too much time was spent on the bus. Too much time wasted travelling on the bus. It is better to move from hotel to hotel to be closer to the sites we were scheduled to visit. All the towns and sites visited were beautiful but I would skip Metreux (sp?) best to schedule a cruise on Lake Geneva when visiting this town.

What a wonderful itinerary! We loved all the places we visited and the tour excursions were terrific! We essentially loved going to the top of the 7,000 foot Mt. Pilatus which was fantastic! Our tour manager Li Kozanyi was very Knowledgeable, experienced, courageous, friendly and attentive. The hotels we stayed at were all located in the city center, the provided meals were located in A+ restaurants were the food , service and decor were local and delicious. There were 44 people in our tour and were all ages. We all got along fine. We rotated our seats every day on the coach bus. The coach driver Giovanni from Italy was such a delight and and excellent driver. I highly recommend Collette Tours! Even though it was our first booking with them. This particular tour was well thought out and worked out perfectly for us!

The itinerary was lovely. Four nights in each destination really allowed one to feel comfortable with the towns' streets & solo sightseeing. Our tour expert, Toni, was more than a historian, she was available for off-book plans, fun, creative. I thought adding the music while on the bus at certain times was special. The lodgings were in the heart of old town, near the open markets and nicely appointed.

As a retired teacher, I appreciated the history, geography, and cultural information that was given. The tour guide was very well informed and willing to impart her knowledge to the group. Meeting local people (local tour guides, owner who taught strudel making, carriage drivers, etc) was wonderful too!

My favorite was the cultural show...music, dancing. Also, the trip up to Mt. Pilatus and the carriage ride in the mountain community(both optional, but so glad I took part).

The tour was fabulous. My favorite things; Taking the cog train up MT Pilatus, Lucerne, seeing the country side within the Alps, doing something local; learning how to make apple strudel, seeing Neuschwanstein Castle OMG beautiful, seeing the ski jump in Innsbrook. I loved everything. The food and the hotels were excellent. I would not have changed a thing except for my transfer ride from my house to the airport JFK. I will not use Chris Limo again.

The overall trip was a bucket list item. We enjoyed how everything was arranged an planned out. The main complaint was on the return trip. The trip to the airport in Munich did no leave much time to get boarding passes and check our luggage. We arrived at the airport only 1 hour 20 minutes before and flight time and were met with long lines. We were concerned that we would not make our flight in time.

The sites and scenery throughout Switzerland and Austria were breathtaking. Pictures cannot do them justice. Our main regret was the accommodations in in Bern. The hotel was clean and well maintained but it was still warm outside and the air conditioning unit was shut off for the fall/winter months. As a result we needed to open the large windows in the room and were subject to all the noise, music, traffic, and sounds from the preparation of stalls for the market fair which was set up across the street from the hotel. The set up started about 4 am and was very noisy. It made it hard to sleep and relax.

Bus driver very helpful and drove safely. Tour director knowledgeable and organized. She was "overwhelmed" by the 33 people from New York. The 9 of us from CA were "incidental" and not really included in any decisions.Favoritism was evident. Guide never made people move on bus so the same 2 people "assistants" sat behind driver for the entire tour. Same people took over the single seats in the back of the bus. Not a good situation. In addition, guide not accommodating to slow walkers. Left about 4 people behind the pack on every walk. Made suggestions that perhaps this group should not partake in a tour if they couldn't keep up. The locations and activities were nice. For the first time on my several Collette tours, the people were very problematic. Great tour except for tour group and guide.

Guide was very impatient with seniors who couldn't hear or walk fast. Very taken over by the large group of travelers. Partial to their wants and wishes. The 9 of us from another group were never considered. Did no have people move seats on the bus.

The hotel for the first half of our trip was very clean and accommodating with very nice breakfast buffet; the hotel for the second half was not as great. Although the room was clean, there were several things left to be desired. For those with special dietary restrictions, make sure you notify Collette and tour guide asap so arrangements may be made.

The entire trip was amazing. Ozcan was the best tour manager. The only problem was the last hotel stay in Bern Switzerland. Please chose a different hotel in this area. Many of the seniors in our group were afraid of the public transportation and the hotel was not a 3-5 star hotel.

I will definitely take another Colette tour and hopefully Ozcan will be the tour manager. I can't give the 5 stars for the Grauer bar hotel that it deserves because the hotel ambassador was awful.

Fantastic time on the Collette tour. The tour director, Pedro Pais was so knowledgable and spoke 5 or 6 languages. A wealth of information was given to us by Pedro Pais. For a younger gentlemen, we all were so grateful to have him as our tour guide. The hotel accommodations and food menus were also great. Thank you to Pedro and our bus driver, Antonio, for always having a smile on their face and so helpful to our group.

Our Tour manager did an awesome job of ensuring that everyone had an enjoyable experience. She worked tirelessly to attend to people’s specific needs. Collette also provides some unique services, like transportation to and from the airport. This proved to be a real perk. The tour provided opportunities to see many different sites in the countries we traveled to. I would encourage you to try and build in more opportunities to connect with residents of the countries.

Some things need to be addressed. The arrival instructions need to be clearer. We went where the instructions told us to go, but the tour director was not there. We wandered all over the airport asking various people how to find our guide. The name tags need to be attached at the shoulder level rather than on a lanyard. It's hard to read the name. Also, there's no need to go to Germany. Oberamagau is a rip off...just a tourist trap and waste of time. Departing from Munich airport was a nightmare. There were so many people crowded into the airport, it was wall to wall people and very hard to find where we were supposed to be. It took so long we didn't get to the gate until just a few minutes before boarding then we had to be bused to the airplane. Seems like it would be easier to drive back to Zurich and leave from there or re-design the tour so it arrived and departed from Zurich.

Loved the whole experience for the locations we visited and enjoyed the tour manager. Favorite country was Switzerland and favorite tour was Mt. Pilatus. Enjoyed staying in town of Bern, and also the city/small town feel of Innsbruck. The only tours that were ok were the Bear pits, and a rose garden at top of Bern. However, I can appreciate the history of the Bear pits and the amazing view from the rose gardens. It always good to have lighter days interspersed with lots of walking days. Tour manager was exceptionall. Im sure your company knows this. She went over the top for our group. Got to know us personally and took her own time and energy to help a not so active individual on our tour. Just great i would encourage others to go on this tour, with this tour guide.

I loved the places we visited. The location specialists were a waste of time especially in Lucerne. There was not enough time to have lunch and visit shops- we had 55 minutes! I was disappointed that we did not visit the Neuschwanstein Castle and it was just a photo shop. The tour was good but I felt a bit pricey for what we did everyday

I felt very well taken care of with Collette. My selected tour included two very nice accommodations that were spacious and had air-condition. What air-conditioning in Europe!! The coach transportation was comfortable with a nice driver. Our tour guide was the best, being cordial and knowledgeable. The value was worth every dollar!

My favorite experience was the tour of the castles, one in each country and my time in Montreux. What a beautiful place!! It is known as the "Swiss" Riveria. That city has many stories regarding musicians for the United States. It was fun to learn so much.

Sadly we had a few misfortune's with the home town pickup (driver) and delayed air travel (which is not your fault but puts a damper on the trip) and of course not getting our luggage for a few days was also a bummer.

We will ask them to avoid Chicago in the future if possible; it was a real hassle making the connection to the international terminal. Also, returning through Toronto seemed like an added stop, customs check, etc. which wasn't needed so we will try to avoid that also.

Our tour manager was knowledgeable, professional, and kind. We saw great vistas, learned about the countries, and enjoyed local cuisine. The other 42 guests were enjoyable and made traveling in a group pleasant. My favorite memory was an option to take a cog rail up Mt. Pilatas; it was beautiful ascending, viewing from above, and descending in a gondola.

Too many people (45) were packed on 1 bus for the entire trip because a smaller group was paired with our group. This saved Collette money but we were given no compensation for this inconvenience. The bus was so old, cramped, and uncomfortable that it was disrespectful to expect travelers to use it. We had to do a daily rotation so that the same people weren't stuck in the worst of the seats each day. We spent hours in the bus each day because our hotel was moved to another city. This change caused us to miss seeing entire sections of cities and tours. -

I loved being in the old downtown areas in Lucerne, Bern, and Innsbruck; however, we were given almost no time in most of these areas because Collette books a lot of places with only a brief stop at each. We missed so many opportunities to see castles, etc. because we only had 20-minutes at some stops. The language Collette uses is very misleading. If the description says that you'll "see" a castle, bring binoculars because they mean you'll see it in the distance. We went to Salzburg and "saw" Mozart's birthplace and missed the salt mines. We went to Gstaad and stayed for 20 minutes. Collette advertises all these beautiful places you'll visit but doesn't say you're basically going to have time to go to the bathroom before you get on the bus again.

The service was horrible. I was very disappointed. I was so excited because of the people that took the APSU trip last year spoke very highly of Collette. The tour was not organized. The entire trip was rushed due to having to drive from Vevey instead of Berns. Several places we were given 1 hour to eat and explore, which was impossible to enjoy.

How does one schedule a tour and not realize that there is a National holiday? Everything is closed. Several occasions, time was not given to explore many of the places that we visited. The most memorable part of the trip for me was the last night. We attended a Yodeling program that was presented by a local family. I wish that we could have done something exciting like the Chocolate Train instead of just riding the train to the top, going to the bathroom then getting back on the bus to return to Vevey.

I give Switzerland and Austria 5 stars and Collette 1 Star. Everywhere we went was incredibly rushed. We went to Salzburg and didn’t even visit the salt mines, which is what the city is known for. We literally stopped on the side of the road for a photo op with Neuschawnstein Castle instead of actually receiving a tour. We went to Mt. Pilatus and were given less than an hour to spend. We took a train to Gstadd and were literally given enough time to use the bathroom before we were herded like Cattle back onto the bus. The descriptions we were sold we very misleading. More time was spent on the outdated, cramped bus than any excursion.

The tour was very good - what I expected for the price. Hotels in Vevey and Innsbruck were wonderful. The rooms were a bit warm, but the weather was warmer than usual. We certainly didn't need the heavy duvet! Learning to leave a keycard in the slot for room electricity and A/C helped. Visitors should not expect the same power grid efficiency of the US.

Beautiful countryside! And our tour manager, Oz, was fantastic and friendly. He was very knowledgeable on historical and other information. Local guides were also very good!. The scenery was beautiful. I've never seen cleaner countries than Switzerland and Austria. The only downside of the trip was the cramped Collette motorcoach. Very little legroom. And a couple of seats were broken and would suddenly recline onto the knees of the person seated behind.

The destinations were great and the scenery was fantastic. There was a language barrier between the driver and tour guide. The driver only spoke Italian and the tour guide spoke English and German. The tour guide, OZ, disassociated himself from members of the group and did not provide a wholesome experience. The time to explore the cities during day excursions were poorly calculated. We would travel for 2 or more hours to the destination only to spend 45 minutes to 1 hour exploring the city. I often felt rushed and was unable to submerged myself into the culture. The bus driver, Enzo, tried to be very accommodating although the bus itself was outdated, uncomfortable and did not have WIFI.

The group was too large to be managed by one tour guide. Over 40. By the time the last of us got off the bus, the first people along with the guide were out of sight. Also the bus rides were long and dull. Videos could have been shown or games played, something to break the monotony of the long rides. I have been on other trips where the bus rides were long. The tour director always had something going on.

Fast paced tour with an aggressive itinerary that allowed us to visit so many locations in a short amount of time. The guides were so helpful in all cases. Favorite experience was extra side trip to Seefeld Country Cottage was our favorite outing of the entire trip. It as nice to get off the bus, meet some local people, make apple strudel, visit the farm animals and take a relaxing horse carriage ride. Loved riding the train! The Tyrolean folklore festival was fantastic and loved by all. We were very impressed that each country represented by the audience was recognized and respected by the performers.

Overall tour was great. Our Travel Coordinator, Toni, was awesome! I am a travel agent and I took this tour with my mother and 4 other friends. We were all mother-daughter couples. My biggest complaint was the airplane seating. Some couples were not seated together. This is unacceptable in my opinion. 2 of these people had never traveled overseas before. Also, in the past wine was included with the meals. Not just one glass.

Overall the tour was good; beautiful scenery in the Alps region. Biggest shortcoming was the reconstruction going on in the Bern Hotel, where to go from rooms to front desk and restaurant areas entailed walking through active construction areas over extension cords, wires, with men actively sawing, working, and moving equipment through hallways, etc. Much heavy dust, noise, and dangerous areas. In the U.S. guests would NOT have even been allowed to stay in this hotel under these conditions, and should not have been allowed there.

The trip was great. Seeing the Alps with some snow cover was beautiful. We went to great places, the food was good as was the entertainment. We had a wonderful tour guide. Angelina Di Mair. She could not have been better. The only problem was the Bern Hotel which was under reconstruction. Our floor was terrible with electric cords on the floor and hanging from the ceilings. If you came back to your room during the day, it was very noisy with hammering, sawing etc. The room was kept very clean but was small.

The tour was great especially seeing the snow covered Alps. Switzerland, Austria, and Bavaria were very pretty, green and clean, not a scrap of paper on the ground. Got to hear yodeling and those long pipes you hear in the Ricola commercials. It was a great trip.

Service was very good until it came time to depart. Our group was separated on different airlines. Wish I could have flown American Air so I could get the miles. My flight was a very long flight both ways, especially returning with a 6 hour layover in Denver. The first hotel was under extensive renovations. My room was located at the end of a hallway with exposed sheet rock work, wires and dust. I shared the elevator with construction crew. My airline departure reservations from Germany was combined with 4 others on the trip. This would have been ok if we had been told. I was not able to check-in at the kiosk after standing inline for an hour. Finally found an agent who could help me. I was in the last 10 people to board the plane. I came near to missing the flight! When I finally got home, I got sick and was near bedridden for 10 days.

We had major construction at our first hotel, had to walk through it to get to our rooms. We had to pay for more meals than usual. We rode on the bus more than we toured. The churches were closed. Didnt get to tour neuschwanstein castle after riding for hours to get there. Coming home we had a 6 hour layover in Denver after that long overseas flight. This was our fourth trip with Collete. If it had been our first, it would have been our last!

Our days were planned well and full of interesting plans of interest however I was disappointed in a number of things: The hotel in Switzerland should have not have been used. The "under-construction" status for over a year should be a hint that guests will be met with unsafe and difficult conditions for a trip that was not inexpensive. Our flights were challenging: Flying over, we were split into two groups (there were about 35 of us) with one group arriving about 6 hours ahead of the other group. Coming home, we were all on the same flight but with a layover in Denver - when we were headed to DFW. Friday, our day was full of locations that were closed or inaccessible or simply not what we expected. i.e.: We thought we would be going inside Neuschweinstein castle - not driving into town and seeing it from the base of the mountain. Very disappointing. Overall the trip was fun with our group but very disappointing with our flight arrangements, the first hotel and that one day that we drove a long way to find closed and out of season.....

We have traveled with Collette and MaryEllen previously. She is a phenomenal and organized leader. Bern was enjoyable in part for a museum festival which coincided with our stay. The dinners were good. The cities visited were as usual for any tour, a survey stop and shopping. The tour guide should have been better able to communicate the essence of the countries traveled. My biggest disappointment was (what I felt) a misrepresentation of our stop in Oberammergau. The Passion is next year but we were told we would see the theater and get a sense of the passion from the people. As per your description “Enjoy a brief tour and learn more about this charming place,famous for its Passion Play.” We barely received that. The best part of the trip were our congenial fellow travelers and the fun meals we found on our own.

I wanted a "get up and go and not worry about it" tour and Collette was the one that took care of me. From flights, to the bus to the room, everything was taken care of. The tour guide we had on this tour was fantastic and knew what she was talking about. Was ever present when any situation arose and found solutions along the way.

The Swiss Alps, the Austrian Alps, the beautiful weather, no rain the entire trip. Bavaria was great to visit but sure would like to have spent more time in Germany, so much to see but just so many days and hours to see it.

I loved my Collette experience! I almost gave them 4 stars, because our first hotel, Hotel Bern, was undergoing major renovations and the inconvenience was massive, halls were blocked off with barricades and I was very worried about an emergency exit if we would have needed it. The hotel front desk woman yelled at me for getting on the wrong elevator, which is funny now, but in my defense, I had been using the stairs to the third floor the whole time, and I wasn’t familiar with their set up. I felt Collette should have been informed. Collette was ripped off. The bus had to drop us off away from the hotel, and in the rain, it was not glamorous, lol Otherwise, everything was nice! Our guide was knowledgeable and our bus driver was safety conscious! Both were very friendly and helpful. The trip was spectacular. So much so, that I have not lost confidence and will go to Italy with Collette in August.

I would consider using Collette again. However I would check more closely regarding what I would actually be able to see and do. I thought we would be able to tour Neuschwanstein Castle, but we couldn't even get close to see it. We had time only to buy a few items and go to the bathroom. It seems to me that Collette may have misrepresented this excursion. The Innsbruck Hotel room was horrible and unsafe. The Hotel Bern was better but lacked proper ventilation. My understanding is that Collette and all of the other tour companies are going to do away with Tour Managers from the U.S. by 2020. The problem I have with that is it is often difficult to understand other people speaking English when they have a relatively heavy accent. Also, people outside of the U.S. do not know much about American culture and what is important to us while on tour.

Seeing the countryside and landscape. I also like Salzburg very much. I did not enjoy my time at Oberammergau There was nothing I could eat unless I sat down at a restaurant. There was no time to do that unless I did not want to walk about the town. I found the attitude of the people in all 3 countries to be mostly unfriendly, at times rude, and dismissive. My husband said that he saw some people glaring at us and appearing to laugh at all of the old Americans. I left feeling that they would prefer we stay home and just send American $.

Tour Guide was excellent. For the most part the planned tours were very good. It was quite a long bus trip on a few of the tours. Perhaps there is a better city to consider instead of Bern. Not that much to do there. Just a big city. Our unhappiness with the Hotel Bern as already been reported. When you don't get a good nights' sleep on terrible beds it makes you a little grouchy! Liked Austria better than Switzerland. Two of the dinners provided by Collette were excellent!

We had no A/C while most of the group did, as well as a bathroom that we couldn't even open the door all the way. I think that Collette should have provided the same type of room for ALL the tour members. I also feel that even though our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable, she was not very organized.

Did not care for the first night in Bern “local” dinner experience - low end Carb. Fest! Fondue too salty with bread and potatoes- did not eat— then frozen bagged vegetables over hash browns! Next more carbs but some pork. Other local restaurant meal was excellent as was one in Innsbrook. Not a fan of the Strasberg meal either but historic Abbey ambience was nice.

The tour manager Sabina was exceptional and went above and beyond. The driver also was extremely skilled and an excellent driver in major tight road hazards. The first tour in Bern to the Bear Pit and the Garden was pretty uneventful as nothing much growing in the gardens and the three poor bears looked lonely and lost. Perhaps a better use of our time with touring the city and going over the architect and surroundings. Hotel in Bern was pretty outdated and although the location was great the rooms were pretty old and with no air in the hotel it left outside elements like working in the streets and partying going on all night

It would have been nice to have seen the castle in Germany and not just view it from afar. More time at that point to actual hike up to the castle and take a tour and see the spectacular views would have been a better use of everyone's time. The tour manager went above and beyond, very knowledgeable, friendly and great personality and sense of humor. I had Collette book my airlines. Only thing was that when returning from Munich I who live in Atlanta went Munich to Washington DC and then ATL. Everyone else on the trip who didn't live in ATL went Munich to ATL and then on to their home. Pretty pathetic that I had to spend 3 hours in DC with weather related problems and couldn't fly direct to ATL. I thought the advantage of having Colette book for me was to get the best possible flight and trip times possible, I know now that is not correct.

We were extremely pleased with our first experience with Collette. This was our first time doing a European vacation and we were very nervous. Everything was spelled out for us, all connections went smoothly. We were picked up at the designated location, taken to the airport and met at our final destination. We would definitely consider using Collette again.

Hard to pick a favorite. We really enjoyed all the places we visited. Only disappointment was going the Neuschwanstein Castle (Friday, Aug 31); we thought we were going to tour the Castle, but in re-reading our itinerary after the fact, we realized that it was a picture opt only. It just seemed like a very long drive to just see from a distance and unfortunately, it was raining and very foggy so never really saw this Castle at all. Others on the tour, also thought we would be visiting the Castle. Maybe bold and underscore the words picture stop only.

Hotels were so, so. Included dinners were so-so. The sites were nice, though the morning going to the King Ludwig II castles in Oberammergau was a waste of time as we parked in a parking lot filled with Chinese tourists and simply got a view from the parking lot and street.

We really liked the almost turnkey approach of a guided tour. There were few things that were not included, mainly some meals. Everyone representing Collette was very professional, helpful, friendly, and efficient. They insured that we were always aware of our schedule and that we were at each event on time. Also, communication from Collette was very good and helpful. This was our first guided tour/trip and we liked having so many activities planned for us to enjoy.

The trip overall was excellent, but there were a few things that could have been better. We had much rather spent four nights in Lucerne than in Bern. Bern was much more expensive than any of the other locations. Hotel Bern did not have air-conditioning, so we had to leave the windows open. The very loud noise from the clubs went on until 2:30 am on Friday and Saturday night. The shower was so small that an average size person could hardly turn around. Some the included dinner meals could have been better. At one restaurant we were so crowded that you could hardy move. The seating arrangement caused my wife and I to sit a separate tables.

I enjoyed the sightseeing and the locations we visited. I thought the first hotel we stayed at in the city of Bern the accommodations could have been better. The location was fine but the hotel wasn't great. Breakfast was not great, AC didn't work. Rooms very small for 2 people. It was very hot the 4 days we stayed there.

Still can't get over how much pleasure you can experience during ten days. I am still digesting the memories. Thank goodness for all the photos we took. My trip highlight was the Lowendenkmal (The lion statue dedicated to the Swiss Guard). ****** (our tour guide) set the stage perfectly before we entered the viewing area. Very moving!

Collette took care of all the details to make sure we saw all of the "don't miss" sights, plus had time on our own in most places to explore, or relax, or shop. The transportation was always comfortable. The included dinners were all delicious, local cuisine but some were in rooms or restaurants that were small for our group so they became stuffy and uncomfortable in the unusually warm weather. The first hotel, where we stayed four nights, had all the necessities except air conditioning and the one-per-room fan didn't provide relief needed for comfortable sleeping until very late at night (or early morning really). The location of both hotels was perfect, and the second one had air conditioning plus an outstanding breakfast. The included tours were very good, and the two optional tours were even better. Local guides were knowledgeable and made every effort to assure that everyone in the group could hear and see properly.

The tours were well planned so that we saw a lot in a short time without feeling rushed. Our tour manager made extra effort to learn names and solve problems, while taking care of every detail of our trip. She was very knowledgeable and made the coach rides interesting and entertaining. I would definitely book with Collette again, but would research the accommodations more first to make sure there is air conditioning in the summer. We really liked staying four nights in each place rather than the more typical one or two nights that most land tours offer. Less time packing, unpacking and more time sightseeing and enjoying.

Our trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland was everything I had hoped for, except that it wasn't long enough. The countries were beautiful, especially the trips we took up into the high country. Our hotels were superb, the food wonderful and our guide Marta was very knowledgeable in the history of the places we visited. I would book another Collette trip in a heartbeat!

This was our second Collette tour, the first being Australia and New Zealand. I was not happy with our guide, *Personal details removed by Feefo* On our first evening in Bern, we ate as a group at a local Bern restaurant. Following the meal, I used the restroom. After leaving the building, I discovered that the group had gone ahead to the bus. My husband, who also used the restroom, went on ahead with the group. I found myself not knowing in what direction to go. I picked the opposite direction from where the bus was parked. I wandered Bern for a time and finally met a nice young woman. She purchased me a ticket for the tram and I arrived back at the hotel safely. I believe my husband should have waited for me, but the majority of the blame lies with *personal details removed by Feefo* She should have accounted for all 33 people before proceeding to the bus. She counted them when they were on the bus only to discover that I was missing. It was not a pleasant experience. For the remainder of the trip I was treated like an irresponsible person.

This is our fourth trip with Collette and we cannot wait to see what will be offered next year, especially since it is their 100th anniversary. No company stays in business that long unless they provide superior service. From picking us up at home and the airport, everything was spectacular. Our tour guide, JenifferStahlbaum and driver, Marcello handled every aspect of the trip with humor, professionalism, and subject appropriate knowledge of the areas visited.

Where to begin? The scenery of the area was, of course, spectacular. What else would you expect in the Alps. From Mirabell Gardens to the UNESCO sights of Bern, to Innsbruck's St. Peter's Restaurant, everything terrific. I really like the old churches of Europe and was particularly taken by the Baroque Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour.

Our group was also quite friendly with everyone cooperating with things like getting back to the bus on time. I only wish it could have been longer and look forward to next year. It is Collette's 100 year anniversary and I'm waiting to see if there will be anything special regarding tours.

Accommodations were in the center of town, you are able to walk to many attractions. Rooms, provided breakfast, and hotel services were excellent. Our guide provided suggestions for free times and provided maps and directions as well. Our guide also made suggestions for the best local restaurants for our purchased meals. There was a good ratio of guided tours vs free time. It was wonderful to see, walk, enjoy the alps as well as the surrounding cities. Mount Pilatus, and funicular to the top of the mountain in Innsbruck are must sees. This is an excellent tour and I recommend it everyone.

Our tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and very funny. My only complaint was the Best Western Hotel we used the first three nights. I was very disappointed in the quality and services provided by the hotel. Other than that, the tour was really good.

Compared with other tours I have taken with Collette, I felt there was too much free time on this trip, and too many meals where we had to find our own restaurant. I think the weather (which you can't do anything about) contributed to the overall feeling. It rained some everyday but one! I did enjoy Salzburg, our one good day, and enjoyed seeing the Alps. Some of Austria and Bavaria I had been to before

We appreciated the ziippered cloths bags that were sent as well as the itinerary zipped cases. Instructions prior to trip were helpful in preparation for triip.

Hotel in Bern was centrally located, but that was the only good thing about it. Our group was crammed into the breakfast room that could not accommodate all of our group. Our breakfast selection was very skimpy as compared to the other breakfast room for non tour guests. The front guest personnel were not helpful at all with zerro recommendations for dinner etc. Spending 4 nights in Bern was WAY too long. Very little to do and see. Would have much rather stayed nights in Salzberb. Collette needs to plan their trips better around Bank Holidays etc. as several towns we visited were totally closed up due to Holidays. When asked by friends about this tour, we tell them that "this was not a good tour"
