The activity level for this tour:
You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

Although I would have preferred a little higher activity level, the rest of the tour was great. Of course the parks are all beautiful. I also enjoyed hearing the history, stories, insights and music presented by our tour guide. I especially liked the wine tasting and dinner at the winery in Grand Junction.

Time frames were always too short. An hour and a half it NOT long enough in an unfamiliar cute town to have lunch/dinner and see the town. That amount of time is only enough to have a served restaurant meal!! The tour manager certainly was in control and was a people mover when it came to a time frame…….no flexibility. Love the trip except for the above comments.

Great tour for those who do not want to spend a lot of planning or vacation time making reservations, hoping to get good national park entry times, charting routes, etc. And for those who appreciate live real time narratives of what you are seeing or immediate answers to your questions about what you are experiencing. We saw a lot of parks including a couple not on the itinerary. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Local speakers imparted the local flavor of some stops, too. Not so great if you like to take your sweet time at a location and want to take along lots of goodies that would take up too much space on a bus or plane (like my big fluffy pillow or a pet.)

This was an excellent tour and the tour leader was the best I’ve ever had. We had a great visit to all the parks in that area. There was always several levels hikes to take or not to take. It was entirely up to the individual. As far as a memorable experience I just enjoyed the spectacular scenery.

Tessa tour guide was highly knowledgeable and informative huber organized. Bus driver Mike very professional and great driver. Sheraton Downtown not in a great area lots of construction and homeless. Exercise room and pool great. Room lovely. Doubletree Grand Junction exercise room good,pool closed. Room lovely but elevators dirty. Element lovely. Food at Zach not so good.Best Western Bryce Very Nice pool,spa and room. Nice general store. Holiday Inn Express Springdale Nice town .Pool,spa room very nice. Zion National Park very busy liked the other state parks much better. The Paris Las Vegas crazy busy and just not enough time . Pool closed at 6:00 bummer. Room very nice . State Parks ruled this vacation. Just a note Collette needs to have someone with a sign at the airport so you know where your transport to the hotel is We spent a hour asking information , calling the hotel,calling you. And we were not the only ones. Wrote this bit fast hope it helps.

My memorable experience was the entire trip! I was so in amazement and wonder of the entire experience. I was tired when I returned home, however I am ready to go again but longer. Our tour guide was full of information and details. Our bus driver was very helpful also. The stories they told kept us interested, the towns we visited were interesting and the people were very nice. We have no idea of the beauty of this country beholds. I had been as far west as New Mexico. This was better, the mountains were beautiful and went on forever. I have had friends move to Utah and now I know why. It was good breakfast was included. That way we did not have to try and find a place to eat. Lunch and dinner were on our own. That way we could experience the local cuisine. Most of what I saw on the menus was regular food like you would have at home. There were plenty of restaurants close to where we were staying, walking distance. The trip was worth the price.

From directions to do a little extra shopping or getting our National Park Passport Book stamped, Janice went the extra mile. Nice hotels, good food, fun activities and awe inspiring views. Fantastic Collette employees, accommodations, and itinerary. The entire trip was memorable. I gave it 4 stars because I thought that the meals could have been a little higher quality and the motor coach seats were too cramped and offered limited leg room for a 6 footer. In spite of this I highly recommend this tour.

The ability to have wonderful private auto shuttles to and from the airport is a huge plus for me. I hate asking people for rides to Sea-Tac airport, especially at 4:00 am! Nice car, and friendly, safe driving

Our tour manager had an amazing amount of information about geology, paleontology, history, and the flora and fauna of the region. She was entertaining and knowledgeable, always helpful and smiling. Bryce Canyon was one of the most photogenic places I have ever seen. But all of the other parks were amazing as well. Our driver was wonderful. I trusted him to keep us safe, even on some tricky roads. And he was a true gentleman. The two of them had great rapport.

Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Driver did an excellent job on difficult roads. Sights amazing. Didn't like there was not enough time at Arches, Canyonlands and Bryce.-Only 1/2 a day at each. Wish you would make the tour 1 or 2 days longer. I didn't care for ending in Las Vegas. I know its the closest airport, so understand the choice. Just such a contrast from the beauty of the National Parks. Possibly you could arrange an optional extra trip to Hoover Dam to make staying in Las Vegas worthwhile.

I really enjoyed the Red Cliffs Lodge with its beautiful two level rooms with kitchenette, and patio overlooking the river. The Lodge campus was fantastic with horses, teepees, a museum, and more. The food was delicious and the staff were helpful and always pleasant. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with a huge variety of tasty morning treats. The lodge was in a remote location with amazing views during the day, and dark, dark, starry night skies. The overall tour was an exciting adventure that gave me an opportunity to see and explore another part of our wonderful country. Our tour guide was an energetic and experienced professional with an abundance of helpful knowledge.

I guess it is unfair to give only four stars since my problem is that it is a bus trip. This type of trip is hard since you are changing accomodations usually every day. There is no other way to see the National Parks so it was a great trip but gruelling for someone 76 with arthritis problems.

Loved 99.9% of the entire trip. Especially loved Bryce Canyon. Could have skipped the last day in Vegas, but everything else was perfect and more than expected.

The accommodations, food, venues and tour director were excellent. The only negative experience was the hotel locations in Denver and Las Vegas. There was a significant population of homeless people which caused concern walking in these areas.

The tour manager and bus driver were superb. My husband and I saw beautiful scenery in all the canyons. My favorite was Bryce Canyon because of the outstanding scenery and the ease of taking the hike along the rim. I also like The Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab, as it was so peaceful and the personal were so accommodating to all of us. I recommend this tour for anyone who has the time to see all the beautiful canyons.

Loved the follow thru with the vaccination protocols. Heather, our tour manager, was perfect! Very knowledgeable, great storyteller, with fantastic connections! She got things done! Kimo was awesome as well. Great driver, and the fact he was an ex-police officer made me feel very safe. He took excellent care of us! Heather & Kimo have a great working relationship, and I truly believe they collaborated together to make sure we saw as much as humanly possible! I loved every minute of this trip!

My birthday was at the beginning of the tour (I take this day very seriously). Heather made it very special by decorating the window of my seat with colorful letters reading "Happy Birthday". She also researched and read events in history on that day. She gave me the list, and also a gift--a magnet of her own personal photos of the sights from our trip. Another thing--I was spreading some of my brother's ashes and I was very emotional. Kimo was concerned and asked me if I was ok. I explained by I was emotional, and he shared his own story with me, which made me feel much better. He is a very kind, and gentle man.

During a breathing problem due to heavy chlorine fumes from an indoor pool, Bryce reworked our room and helped move my luggage several buildings to a safer location for me. He went beyond a job. He was a true helper during my time of need.

The basic tour was great. The extension in Denver was great, but the extended time in Las Vegas and the flight problems home left me with a reduced opinion of the trip.

With most foreign trips repeatedly rescheduled or canceled by Covid, I just wanted to go somewhere besides funerals. We’d been to Zion, Painted Dessert, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, etc. I especially enjoyed the state highway roadside “slight detour” stop to see the petroglyphs, a pleasant bonus surprise. It established a human element in the millions of years of uplift and water/wind erosion.

Heather and Glen (tour manager and driver) where both wonderful. They made sure everything went smoothly so the we were able to enjoy ourselves. Heather provided a good mix of information/fun facts/and quiet time as we traveled from location to location. The planned activities and the pace were good. I would definitely recommend this tour and Collette to others!

An excellent tour which included some new sights for us as well as revisiting some highlights from a previous tour. However some days were poorly structured (eg a “lunch” stop in Vail at 11.00 before any restaurants had opened) and we (along with many other passengers) would have liked more time in Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.

We have taken a number of National Parks tours with Collette and found all the guides to be excellent; they are well-prepared with information to impart about the places visited, and look after the group very well. We already have another Collette tour booked for the Spring (a European one this time: Portugal.)

While it was overall a wonderful trip, we were disappointed not to have seen more of the Arches in that National Park, and to have driven through Escalante with only a stop at the visitor center. But Bryce and .Zion at the end of the tour were wonderful.

The tour was great. both Joel, the tour guide and Mike the driver were fun, friendly and worked well together . They made everyone feel included and communicated well. Also the accommodations were wonderful.

A bit rushed, a lot of bus time but saw some amazing scenery. Hotel in Las Vegas a huge disappointment!

Our guide didn’t have a lot of knowledge of the area. Bus had no WiFi. Loved hiking in Bryce and the red rock hotel

loved the itinerary....it was perfect starting in Denver and ending in Vegas. would have preferred to stay on the strip in Vegas...not a fan of the Golden Nugget's location...I was not happy with the breakfast...mostly cold in all the hotels....same daily....loved the dinner with the West Family...as well as at the Red Cliff Lodge (loved the Red Cliff Lodge)... we not happy with the Majestic View Lodge...dinning staff were rude....food not great....service poor....would have preferred to be in town and not take the shuttle

After touring the gorgeous scenery in Utah, it is impossible for me to pick one The hotel in Las Vegas was not on the strip & not the most convenient location. Freemont Street was definitely not appealing to us.

This was my 5th trip with Collette and once again not disappointed and a great trip! Derek our tour guide was exceptional, extremely informed on the area, and was there to take care of the tiniest detail. Highly recommend Collette and painted canyons of the west tour.
