You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

I loved seeing the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center. Have seen it for many years on TV and could not believe I was actually seeing it in person. It was really crowded but worth standing out in the cold to experience it!

Eileen was a great tour manager! So thoughtful, she made sure everyone was included yet was mindful of their mobility limitations. The Rockettes' Christmas Show was a highlight for me as well as the Statue of Liberty. We packed a ton of sites and events into three days.

Ticket was close to $6,000 it was overrated tour it bare minimum the hotel short of staff charge for The second tchecking in Room was not available especially hotel was book months in advance 2 hour for from refrigerator charge and coffee pot Sheraton in Manhattan Broadway floor had bed bugs room and old need to upgrade The brochure itinerary schedule did not match ours With tour manager Wesley schedule and what I have from Coletta I have brought it up to Wesley he just ignored it Jim tour guide on bus gave excellent tour on bus driver William try to make it fun even I try to make it fun I made some suggestions that we may need soft music pins on the crowd to make the group more upbeat Wesley didn't inform that if you had any difficult with the Delta Airline which we did the RFK that we had to lay over and I playing with cancer twice instead of taking 1 hour to get home took over 8 hours to get home baggage was it when it's supposed to be Wesley did not have patience didn't have a personality not a great tour guide I could have been a tour guide The show was great Wicked what was the name of that show Chicago okay I wish I have a better selection of the pick like Michael Jackson and Hamilton Broadway show for my inconvenience I should be compensated by a free trip anywhere include hotel stay and a better selection a hote l there's a lot more but it's best to call me on the phone if you want to get a better experience that I will share with you

Great tour, great Hotel! Sightseeing was perfect, had never attended any Broadway plays, enjoyed tremendously, especially MJ. Tour Director Paula made the trip extra fun, she was full of energy, very organized and made the trip extra special for a wide age range group! I would suggest the Limo service give the phone number of the main guest to have direct contact instead of going through the main office, had quite a bit of confusion on arriving and departure. We were not notified of traveling with 4 other members of our travel companions, it was not a problem but would have been more professional for them to send a text or call and let us know to avoid confusion! That was the only negative about the entire tour!!

Our Tour Manager was wonderful very attentive to everyone’s needs. I have been on several Collette tour prior to Covit. This one did not meet the standards that were in place before. The meals that were provided were not we had before. We had one good breakfast at the Starlite and the farewell dinner at the Brazilian place the others are forget about it. Also previously on tour we had fast pass entry to sites. This was not the case with the Liberty Island and Elllis Island Tour. We had to be in line for 1.5 hours we the being all seniors that is a lot to ask

I thought the meals could have been better. I know it's hard to prepare meals for all those people at the same time, but the quality wasn't as good as I expected. The best meal was the last nite at the Brazlian steak house. The Italian dinner was very strange - everyone wanted regular old spagetti and meatballs or lasagne from a good Italian restaurant but the choices were not good.

A bit more down time and better and adequate timing to the airport would have made the trip a 5 star trip. The bus driver should be “fired” Inability to drive the bus, and downing us off at the wrong terminal, unexceptable, period.

Yes, seemed unorganized...I've used Collette twice and my experience was great and plan on going on more trips through Collette...my expensive watch (disappeared) had to pay $50 in order to use fridge and microwave...picked up package that was sent to me...charged $10...was really displeased with our lodging...on the plus side, tour guide was great...need to have him to text me...I didn't tip as wanted too...he had my back in mix up that happened on part...his name is Matt...again I wish to express I'll try again on my previous experiences

Lack of beef option on dinner meals, I and other guests had issues with their room, from lack of hot water, heater not working correctly. Some had a mini refrigerator. Airfare request for aisle seats not an option. Yet when travelers looked at the flight there was a few aisle seats. Yet could not change because of flying with a group. Some KTN were left off boarding passes and travelers had to go the non-ktn route. Our tour manager was on top of his game.

Loved the Rockettes. Would have been so appropriate to have such an uplifting show follow the emotional day spent at the 911 Memorial and at the end of the tour. The bus tour with the local guide was a low point. He was not articulate enough for those of us in the middle or back of the bus to see or understand what he was pointing out.

I totally enjoyed my tour in New York. The tour manager and guides were exceptional, our meals and shows were great and appreciated all of the suggestions for best things to see in our off times. The only problem was the flights there and back. There are direct flights from MKE to New York and we spent 13 hours both ways because of connections in Charlotte. NC. Totally unnecessary.

Food was terrible, especially breakfasts. Dinner was awful, except for the last night. We always left later than scheduled. Had slow walkers, even though it was advertised for moderate walkers. We had to pay an extra $100 a person for the Broadway show, even though the ticket price was $127.65. We had to change hotel rooms the first night because our bed was broken and the bathroom sink leaked. We spent lots of time stuck in traffic, at a stand still. The optional Greenich Village Tour was shorter than advertised. The Radio City and Broadway show seats were way to one side, so that we could not fully appreciate the show and music. At the Broadway show, we were stuck behind the speakers. We thought Collette Tours was a high end tour group. It is definitely not.

Poor schedule. Arrived on Wednesday afternoon and no activity scheduled until Friday. Got dumped in NYC and told to explore on our own. Got lost, walked 12 miles. Frustrated. Cried. Paid $6k for that.

Being born in NYC but living in Florida since the late 1950s, I found visiting Broadway after more than 60 years breathtaking. Seeing Radio City Music Hall and the Rockettes' Christmas show; seeing "Chicago" at the Ambassador Theater; having breakfast at the Stardust Diner; seeing the Statue of Liberty; Ellis Island; the 9/11 memorial; Rockefeller Center; and all the other holiday displays were beyond description. Excellent choice of hotel.

No activities were planned for Sunday Dec 3rd and we had to check out of the Hotel by 11:00am, the bus was scheduled for 3:45pm and our flight was scheduled for 7:00pm. Our entire group was forced to hang out in the hotel lobby for hours!

1. Rockettes, without a doubt! Not your fault, but I was sorry my favorite shows were no longer playing. We chose not to attend any of the three options we had. Enjoyed our morning at the J.P. Morgan Library, something we did on our own. Fit our time frame, no long line standing in the rain, beautiful part of New York. Had read the book, J.P. Morgan's Personal Librarian, so had background knowledge of the amazing collections. 9/11 was a must see, but because I lived in Oklahoma during that bombing, I did not need to spend much time going through the museum due to the emotional impact. I have also seen so many hours of excellent TV programs recounting the events. Steve did an excellent job of guiding us through the outdoor portions. We went to Trinity Church while in that area. I appreciated the ability to do what suited us best with the time we had. Nicely guided but not "controlled." I liked our flexibility on Ellis Island and at the Statue of Liberty. Again, Steve managed that time well. The evening meals were excellent. Seating arrangements were well done. The hotel was nicely located and met the needs of our group. We made the best of our "extra night" in the Atlanta Airport. Just wish we had been informed of the sleeping accommodations in the airport itself (I think in Concourse B) since the motel was not in a good part of Atlanta so chose not to go there and risk not getting back to the airport in time - and avoided going through security again. Our originally scheduled time was moved to include the weekend. I would prefer not to be there on Saturday and Sunday.

Loved the pickup at my house to airport/hotel and back. Accommodations were very nice, guide was very knowledgeable, had a sense of humor, had suggestions of things to do outside of the tour. I think that we got the biggest bang for our buck in 3-1/2 days!

Our Tour Manager was great. Most of the planned activities were great. I little too much time on our own. I was disappointed in the "tour" of Greenwich Village, Chinatown & Wall St. I was told we would be stopping at these areas and walking around exploring a little at each stop. It turned out that we just drove by these areas and were told to look out the window to see these areas as we drove by. If you were on the wrong side of the bus you missed it.

The hotel was sub-par and the flight to NY was way too late. We did not get to our belted room until 2 am which made our first day on NY less fun. We had much less usable time in NY than we paid for. Most of the food was not great as the restaurants were trying to feed 44 people at one time.

The tour guides and tours in New York city were fabulous. The hotel was beautiful and in a very good location. The flights to New York were fine but the ones coming home were not good. There was only 45 minutes between flights in Minneapolis and since we left Neward 1 hour and 50 minutes late that was a real problem. We were able to get the last two seats to Mosinee the next morning and after some bad advice at the airport, we had to spend the night in the arrival section of the airport. Needless to say, that was a bad ending to a great trip!

Overall it was a good trip. The Rockettes were wonderful, Chicago was incredible, appreciated the free time to do things that I particularly wanted to do. Would’ve enjoyed more time at Ellis island. The tour of the city could’ve been better. The trip was originally scheduled during the week and was changed to a Thursday through Monday. Initially I had no problem with this and was OK with the change but then I realized there would be no opportunity to go to any of the morning shows that I would like to have attended.

Days were filled with many highlights of the city and paced so everyone could keep up. The ear pieces were helpful especially when instructions were given on arrival and departure times. In order to take this nice tour, we were forced to pay a lot of money for four (4) seats to two Broadway plays we had no interest in going to (we went to one, but we did not go to "Waitress" (not a play for a wide audience)).

Driver fought on speaker with someone in another language, then missed turn to Manhattan and had to turn around, then missed hotel so BACKED UP on 4 lane street and cut across 2 lanes to leave us in 1st lane in front of hotel in rain. Car Horns, brake lights, people yelling everywhere! Extremely happy to have LARRY as our bus driver on all other excursions! He could really manuver the bus in extreme traffic conditions! Felt safe! Mark was a GREAT TOUR MANAGER!! Always efficient, friendly, knowledgeable! I've been on other Collette tours and they have all had good tour Managers, but I'd rate Mark #1. And the local guides for the excursions were informative and fun! Really gave a feel for the New York life! Enjoyed them all.

The only bad thing was when we arrived at the airport the limo was not there . Tour guide, Natalie Riegel, was wonderful, friendly/helpful/organized. However, in documents you said we would be taken to dinner, to show, to subway and back to hotel. This is not so. Bus took us to dinner, picked us up and to Broadway show. Natalie told us "you are ON YOUR OWN, to return to hotel after show. Gave walking directions back to hotel." Could not get a taxi. Took pedi cab. This was $60.00 for a few blocks to hotel. This is not acceptable and not what you stated in documents. I am a single woman with my granddaughter. It is 10:30 at night in New York City and we had to go back to the Hotel by ourselves at this time of night. Phantom of the Opera was not understood or liked by my fourteen year old granddaughter. There should be an option. She liked Pretty Woman.

They provided a fairly good balance of scheduled activities and free-time but left us too long on our own at each place where we were dropped off rather than providing a few more stops. They did not provide adequate guidance about other highlights/places to visit and how to go about getting there.

Collette kept in touch with us prior to the tour. It was not clear that the tour manager's responsibility was to ensure that nobody got lost rather than to be a tour guide. One Broadway show would have been enough, would have rather had much more than a three-hour locally guided tour. I sat in front and really appreciated learning about the area from Vernon, our tour bus driver.

There were 2 bus loads going and just felt we were left out many times starting with the pre-meeting at Joplin. Our group did not have their papers with info and tags and had to make other arrangements to get them. It was a wasted trip for our pre meeting! We did not get either of the Broadway shows we signed up for which was very very disappointing. That was to be the highlight of the tour.

The best part was the city tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. We walked to all meals including breakfast and it sounded like the other group had access to the bus more than our group.

Overall the experience was great just a few hiccups in the daily routine requiring a few changes or delays. Also, there seemed to be confusion for the trip back to the airport from the hotel between the limo service and our tour guide, but Collette made us whole on what we paid for the trip to the airport. I would consider another tour using Collette.

The hotels are always great and convenient and the food that is included is always wonderful also. The amount of tours that are included and the local guides have always been good also. Collette is usually a sure bet for escorted travel the service pick up from our home was very timely. The transportation to our hotel in New York was comfortable and the driver was competent. Our driver home from our airport was friendly but weaved on the road so much so it caused concern to myself and fellow travelers.

We saw everything we wanted to see the first time in NYC. It was nice to have some free time to see sites that weren’t included on the tour. Ellis Island and seeing The Statue of Liberty up close were our favorites. I liked also that we were picked up at our house, airport to hotel and on our return brought back to our residence which was all inclusive. Also shows and 5 meals were paid for which made it really nice.

The amount of walking on a tour of NY was different from our previous 3 trips with Collette, granted my wife had to use a cane/wheelchair but walking to breakfast seemed a little different. Vouchers to be used by us, and having to negotiate with the restaurant staff/management for the type of menu and price was an issue for us and some or our fellow travelers. Tour guided did her best under the rules she was given.

The play was an additional cost of $85.00 but not sure why. The tickets were marked $109.00. What was the cost of the other plays? The seats were off to the side so couldn't see the entire stage. Limo ride was seriously a train wreck. Two hours at the airport trying to get assistance from Chris Limo and Colette who told us they were busy. Chris Limo said the driver wasn't answering his phone. This cost us two hours, a $20 tip to the man working at the garage who got us water so we wouldn't miss our driver that never came. Then we contacted Lyft because we were tired and so hot waiting both in the luggage area and then garage as directed by people on the phone. Thank goodness our Tour Manager was great. She is very professional, considerate of all and a bright and personable person.

The limo ride from the airport to the hotel was the worst I have ever had. You set us up as a shared ride and the other party was an hour behind us. I ended up taking a lyft from after waiting 2 hours. The tour manager was great. I also paid an up charge for tickets to Waitress. The seats were way off to the left of the stage making them partly obstructed. Further the tickets had a face value of $109 and I paid $85 of that amount, so I think I did not get the value for my tour price of two Broadway plays.

Seeing and staying in a large city such as New York can be very tiring, but knowing that there was a coach on hand all the time was very reassuring - negotiating the traffic was another matter though. Limosine pick-up service was very good in the UK and being picked up from our New York hotel to take us to the airport, however being collected at JFK to be taken to our hotel, he was nowhere to be seen as apparently we were too long coming through passport control and he didn't wait for us. We had to find our own way to our hotel.The tour manager was excellent throughout the trip (heals re-embursed us immediately for our taxi fare) but can only be commended for his help and advice throughout the trip.

All in all our trip was wonderful. On the trip back from Ellis Island when we got off the ferry we could not find our tour guide. He had not told usher to meet him. We looked all over for him could not see him or his flag, we went to where the buses were and did not find him. We called him 3 times with no answer so we took a taxi back to hotel at a cost of $30. He finally called us but was not too concerned.

It was a good trip EXCEPT for when we arrived at the Sheraton Hotel in New York about 5 pm after a long flight and were very tired and then we were told our room would not be ready until 10 p.m. That is unacceptable!! We got no rest that evening and started out the trip the next morning very tired. I have never heard of check-in time being at 10 p.m.

I loved the home pick up to the airport and then back home at the end of our tour. I have not been on another tour that does this. Please continue. Our hotel was very comfortable and had a great location. I can't heap enough praise on our tour guide, Tracy. Just excellent in every way. The tour bus was very nice as well. The whole concept of Spotlight on NYC was a great one. The diners were fun for breakfast....... Starlight Diner with singers a bit much in the morning though. The other restaurants were fine..... it was nice to have several choices. If I have one suggestion..... that first day was kind of a killer with the early time to commence the tour..... followed by the play. It would be nice to add another day , so it would be a little more relaxed. The other days were fine. LOVED the Hi line and the Chelsea Market. More time there would be nice. The plays were absolutely outstanding. Liked the idea of a matinee and a night time production. We will continue to travel with Collette! Wish we could clone Tracy for our next tour with you to Portugual!

The Tour Guide was gracious, kind, competent and very knowledgable. The tour was wonderful, so much to see, so little time. LOL. One or two suggestions: the bus was not designed for touring, the windows were too small to see the high buildings. The driver was excellent: competent and helpful with my walker. ALSO for a New York tour, the morning was so rushed in terms of being able to see important places, even from the bus. Perhaps the World Trade Centre and 9/11 tour could be set for the next day with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. All 3 are iconic New York/American sites. The Broadway shows, restaurant choices and atmosphere of just being in New York City was terrific. P.S. I also learned that I can travel alone quite confidently. Thank you.

The tour director was excellent -- I don't think you could have had anyone better. However, I think you need to let travelers know the itinerary before the time of arrival. We arrived at the airport at 3:30 and because of problems with the car service provided by Collette we did not arrive at the hotel until 6:30 -- and by that time totally exhausted. Had to get settled in the hotel and find a place to have dinner. Then we find out that the tour begins the next morning at 6:40 AM and then we did not arrive back at the hotel until 11:30 pm. A totally exhausting day. If I had been aware of the schedule for the first day I may have gone a day early to be fully rested to such an exhausting day. A 16-17 hour day of touring is too exhausting for anyone -- regardless of age.

I was disappointed that the tour did not include such sites as the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, the UN. The Intrepid Aircraft Carrier Could have been an option. Ellis Island should have been an option. Also the 911 memorial should have been an option. I have a feeling that the Restaurants we went to did not care for tours. (Tips?). Knowing what I now Know about the tour, I would have passed on the above mentioned sites and paid extra (Bus Tour) to see and tour Famous New York Sites also mentioned above. The Plays were Excellent.

Generally the tour was very good, and a lot packed-in, in the time. We were very disappointed not to have been taken to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. However, the shows,hotel,guides & tour organisation was good. UNITED airlines was poor, probably worst of any airline we have ever used, including budget airlines !! The pick-up from NJ Airport was very bad, driver was operating / speaking on 3 different phones constantly, with no information on our journey of points of interest etc..also dropped us off about 200 yards from our hotel entrance..(not what we were expecting) The only other gripe was our breakfast at COSMIC...grumpy old man served us, I use the word "served" advisedly...and the food looked tired, as though it was re-heated, and tasted accordingly...un-appetising !!! Our tour guide (Personal details removed by Feefo) and city guide (Personal details removed by Feefo) were excellent, both with a good sense of humour, and the right amount of local information. We will of course try to use Collette again, and recommend them to our friends and family. PS. Your gratuity information was still causing confusion amongst fellow travellers on this tour. It needs to be sharpened up and made much more succinct / clear. Thank you.

I love NY and would like to do a return trip in the future. The New Amsterdam theater was fascinating! And Ellis Island and the 9/11 Memorial gave me a depth of appreciation for the hardships and sacrifices people made to make our country great.

Most enjoyable restaurant was on our last evening. The drive around the city with our guest guide was very informative. The plays we would prefer more current even if they might be considered off Broadway. Something new like a sports event would be great hockey, baseball or football. Also, the Brooklyn Bridge or Intrepid would be great. Meals we would like lighter fair Shake Shack or Serendipity would be different. there is so much to see in New York we want to go again but different things to see and do. Also, the rooms are small so maybe a Manhattan Club type hotel.

I most liked the stop at the new 9/11 Memorial Museum. I took an extra fee narrated tour which further enhanced my visit. I would recommend that to obtain the full impact. Also, enjoyed a morning stroll in Central Park with our local guide for the morning (Phil) who was a repository of information about NYC sites we saw after that. I loved his guidance. The ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island was wonderful too.

Fantastic trip. Group setting let us access areas at times that would have been difficult if we were traveling alone. Superb tour group leader. Unflappable and really knowledgeable. He made us all feel safe and excited about the planed activities. This is an affordable way to pack a whole lot of activity into a few days with all of the details of organization and time management left to Collette. We will definitely be looking at future tours. The 911 Memorial Museum was breathtaking and I doubt we would have waited through the many hours long entry line on our own. Collette had us in the back/side door reserved for groups and we hardly even slowed down at the door. Thank you for that.

Another great travel experience with our favorite travel company. We decided to visit New York as a personal celebration of our 51st wedding anniversary, and the first thought was to "call Collette" since we have traveled with them many times before. The agent helped us set up the trip, including our choice of airline connections, and we never doubted that the trip would be wonderful. And it was.

The tour was excellent in every respect! Our CarsCo driver met us on time at the airport and delivered us to the hotel by dodging afternoon freeway traffic, providing a guided tour of Queens along the way. Mark Godin, our Tour Manager, met us at the hotel and recommended that we explore Rockefeller Center and Top of the Rock while he took care of checking us in to our hotel room, thus extending our tour by a full afternoon. This extra service is only one of the ways in which Mark enhanced our tour by adding tips and suggestions for individual choices along the way. We experienced so much more of New York than we thought possible in this short weekend tour, partly because of the itinerary choices made by Collette and in large part through the personal service provided by Mark Godin.

Loved the trip! The guides were very good! The restaurants were excellent! Loved the Stardust, and the Stagecoach did a magnificent job in feeding the group at the last minute. Mark handled the situation expertly! I enjoyed all the sightseeing, and tours. This is one of the best tours I have been on. I would definitely recommend Collette to anyone.

I enjoyed Central Park the most. We took a rickshaw ride on our own through the park! I would recommend it! I would like to see the tour of NYC that is done on the bus moved to one of the sightseeing buses. Difficult to see what the guide was talking about when you sit in the middle or on the aisle. Ellis Island was special! And St. Paul's was very good. And the Broadway plays were a lot of fun! And I loved the people on this trip!

The short tour was very good in view of the fact that I had never visited NYC. I am definitely going back to see more! The hotel location was excellent and the hotel staff was wonderful. I didn't meet a single "unfriendly" person. The only "oh, no!" moment happened when I receive the info about which shoes to see. I would have liked to have had a bigger choice as I had already seen two of the choices. I would like to comment on Josh Chelmo, our tour director. He has very good people skills, was very helpful with requests, and had a good sense of humor, which is important when dealing with a group of people. I would say that Josh is a very important member of the Collette organization and Collette is fortunate to have him in its employ.

Disappointed that Collette did not include wi/fi with our room reservation. Sheridan wanted about $15 a night for this service. Secondly, Collette quoted $500 a night for additional days in NYC, the Sheridan could be reserved online for $180. a night.
